I know people are just trying to get a rise, that's why I usually ignore those types of comments.
As for my "whining/snivilling" I have not once posted a pissed of comment about my deferal. Yes its upsetting, but I'm not pissed off about it. I pissed at myself because I know I could have done alot better on the interview. Bottom line, is that I didn't present myself in the best examples for the questions I was asked. I screwed up, thats it. I learned from the experience and if I do decide to reapply after my deferal then I know what I need to do to pass next time. In addition, D's wife's interpretaion of my post is dead on. I never once said I was defered because of my age. I was just posting what I have been told via a Cst that was talking with the poly graph examiner.
Thanks for the support and encourgement from those that have given it.

I suggested that a response could be more civilized. A person will generally get disrespect, when one puts out the same. People are entitled to their opinions, but perhaps the way a person presents their comments is another story.

Hey Everyone
Well my backgrounds are nearly completed. I had the home interview with the background investigator. He was at our home for 2 hours talking with myself and my wife. Things went really well, and he had a lot of positive things to say about my file. It should be back with my file manager next week. Then the selection committee. So things are moving along again. Hope to make the June class. Keeping my fingers crossed. Booked another PARE for May 7th. Mine expires on May 1st and have to have a current one before starting class.
Chat later

Boyscout, Wow, how exciting is that!!!! The recruiting officer my husband spoke to told him that if you make it to the selection committee you're in there, they're just the rubber-stampers when you've gotten that far and this recruiting officer had never had them turn one away yet . A home visit sounds fun and yet nerve-racking all at the same time. *If* we get that far it will prove to be interesting. I think the background investigator will leave thinking my husband should have failed the psych after visiting with our family ;D Well, good luck having patience for this last part, keep us posted. Way to go! Congratulations on all your hard work! Enjoy Calgary and all the stress of preparing to go My husband is trying to prepare scenarios for when he gets an interview scheduled. Question is, how amazing do these examples have to be? I have to admit, it seems like a lot of pressure to have everything riding on the examples for the interview. Should they all be very specific with dates and names or can they be things like, this is how I demonstrate this competency every shift on this job? Thanks for the help, D's Wife

Dswife
Thanks, its been a long road to get here. I am looking forward to getting out there. Put an offer in on a house in Airdrie. Packing is almost done. Having a moving company take care of the rest.
The selection interview will follow exactley whats on their web site. Your anwsers should be complete. I don't know if I would use the word amazing. I don't think mine all were. A couple I guess. But complete and thoroughly demonstrate that part of the comp they are looking for in the question. For example the question Tenacity. Be complete in the anwser. The most recent the better. A few years back is fine if its a dandy one. I didn't state any dates or such, didn't even cross my mind on that part of it. But if they would of asked it would be good to be able to come up with the dates or names. Best of luck to him
I will keep ya posted on my progress
