RJ,
If it makes you feel any better to hear it, I agree completely with Journey....
The psych test identifies irregularities in the responses provided...and those irregularities almost always are generated by people thinking too much about how they think the answer will be interpreted.
Something to make you feel even better is this:
The fact that they are sending you to the head doc is a GOOD thing.
If they thought you were a psychopath...they would have punted you. The fact that they are sending you to the head doc is probably because they identified some irregularities in your answers, and they want the doc to get the straight up answer from you. Once you've clarified things with the doc, I'm sure everything will get back on track.
Cheers! RY

RJ, With regards to what RyanSales and Journey2CPS have said...I believe they are 100% correct. I thought a lot about each question and tried to answer the questions how I thought they wanted them answered. All I ended up doing is screwing myself, and costing myself my "dream job". Now, after having done some research and having read the last two postings, my suspicions as to what cost me dearly are coming true. I don't want to sound like i'm feeling sorry for myself in any way. It was my mistake. So take their advice, I certainly wish I had read these postings or something like them prior to writing the psych test. Good Luck to you RJ.

Hey everyone, we have suffered yet another loss to our community of brothers and sisters in law enforcement.
Please remember Const. Valerie Gignac and her family in your prayers.
Also remember that while it is the greatest job in the world, it is not without risk that we chose it.
Stay focused, stay tough.

I have a question for everyone out there. During my initial information session, I was told not to do the shotgun effect (applying to more then one force at a time.) I am at the final stage in the hiring process; however I am in a circumstance where my job is now at jeopardy due to my application to the RCMP. I have always wanted to be an RCMP office; however, I have two kids and a wife to worry about. Somewhat running out of time, yet I do not want to put a smidge on my application. As my wife says, if you have waited 30 years to get this far why not wait another month to two.

Don't know the Labor laws in Canada, but I'm assuming they are similar to the U.S.,like the Fair Labor Standards Act,etc- here an employer can only fire you for just cause",unless the company goes bankrupt/has to lay off,or you are on probation. Are they asking you to transfer as a condition of your employment or has your current made you sign a contract as a condition? So what if you applied for the RCMP! Thats your choice, and as long as you perform to the min.standards of your current job, the Boss doesn't have sh*t to say about it,lest he face a work place discrimination or harassment lawsuit.its your future-either you strive for something better, and it sounds like RCMP is better than what you are now doing, or you settle for what you've got....

labour laws are the same. i just work for a family owned bussiness, which makes this more difficult. family is worse then anyone you could ever work for. i currently run the bussiness so it puts the bussiness in jepeordy if i leave. As my father said "if you were anyone else i would replace you" my answer was, "if you were anyone else i wouldn't have told you."
right now its just a topic we don't discuss, however the tension is rising. as far as settling is concerned.... not an option. the RCMP is where i want to be.

..Go for it coolbreezer-worth the effort. The only reason to stay is economic issues( in which case you'd have probably already decided on the family business,i.e. more $$$ ,more security in business, obligations to keep the family traditions going) My take is to train someone from without to take your place. When you "cross over" into RCMP and get settled, you can always returm to ass't the family business on a part time basis........

I am finally off to Depot. I applied through G Division (Northwest Territories) on July 27, 2005 and signed all of the paperwork a few days ago. My Depot date is February 19, 2006 and will be in Troop 37. Hang in there everyone, it can be a long process but once you get that "all clear" call it is an absolutely amazing feeling!

hey kdiv applicant, what I would recomend is going throught the 8 competencies in the RMSIG and thinking of atleast 2-3 examples of each, and just reviewing your examples over and over, that way when you have your interview you will feel more confident. Also try to think of questions they may ask you...again look at the 8 competencies in the RMSIG.
good luck!!

Sad to hear soo many hopes going up ,and a long wait! Just read an article on Officer.com that sez' the RCMP is DOWN (600) authorized positions and losing more !!1 But wht the hold up? regional politics? how many Thousands of applicants are actually processing? It sounds like down here in CA ,where academies used to see avg classes of (100) recruits a month ,12 months a yr-now most area academies are lucky to have 25-40 recruits ,ever other month- for those of you "Hangin in there" ,take comfort from the early posts of the successful.i've been on quite a few sites, even when this site was "reformatted" and this blog just keeps on going- nearly 5 yrs and counting...........
