I wouldn't assume anything. Maybe everything worked out for him and he just hasn't had any time to post on the web board. Even if something did happen, I wouldn't encourage someone to post about it. If they want to share their experiences or not...it is up to them.
Just my two cents....
Lance

Hello all, Good to see people moving along in their dreams of becoming an Police Officer ;D ;D It's a long process but I'm sure it's worth it in the end. Good to see Jay in the big race again ;D ;D.....I'm going to apply again in the next block, hope I make it this time round. My wife also wrote the RPAT in Dec/04 and just got here marks last week with a 3.21 for the RPAT, just scraped by .Might not get the packet with a score like that.

I actually stopped reading this forum when the trolls took over. I made it all the way to the end...and had a medical problem (uncovered during the exam) that prevented me from going to Depot.
Yes, I am part of that < 5% who pass the BGI but do not go to Depot.
I had the BGI about a year ago, then the medical (including final PARE), then the call from Health Services...
"uh we have some abnormal levels of ___ in your blood tests...please come back for a re-test."
I'm not going to discuss this over a public board, but I can reassure everyone that my life expectancy is not affected. I will have to re-apply since the time period is so long (all tests have expired).

Are you sure you have to re-apply Dave? I know one guy who recieved a medical deferal, but once the problem was cleared up, he went right back to the same spot in the process..he had to redo the security interview of course, but everything else was still valid including the RMSI and RPAT

Hello everyone I've passed all the stages and now my file is currently in Halifax awaiting final approval. Does anyone know how long this usually takes? Does it have to go to Ottawa as well to be approved? It has been 7 weeks now and I am wondering if this is normal. Thanks, Lance PS I have a web page online detailing my journey to become an RCMP officer. You can check it out at www.geocities.com/mountie2be/index.html

Hey Dave I just read your post as well. Usually the Force will defer you and check you repeatedly.
I know two members one with diabetes and one that had protien in the urine. Both, are regular members now and did not need to reapply. Your interview scores and security clearance in good for one year.
This is the first time I have been here in quite some time.
I stopped reading when things got kind of negative around here. I have not read all the back posts but I hope it has gotten better.
For the record, after 2 and half years out, it is still the greatest freaking job in the world!

This is the first time I have been here in quite some time. <snip> For the record, after 2 and half years out, it is still the greatest freaking job in the world! Storm 10-04 on that Storm!! Hey I had this urge to see if this board was still around and is it ever....still going strong would be an understatement. This forum really helped me out when I was in the process. Storm do you remember we met briefly my first week there? You were out of there shortly after. I also met Ace13 before she left as well. I graduated August 5, 2003. I just finished a two year post up in northern Sask. and am now back in a small town of 2500 in the south. For those in the recruiting process, stay focussed! This is a fantastic career and way of life. Training was a blast and the job is even better. Take care out there! Dave

I wrote my second psych test and now I have to go to Calgary to see the psychiatrist. I clearly do not have any pschological problems by no means. They told me they do not feel I was completely honest on the test, but the truth is I was. I have come so far and I am so nervous that this may crush my hopes in becoming a member of the R.C.M.P. What is the step they take when I go down to Calgary. Maybe I read some of the questions on the test differently, all I'm saying is I hope that this does not affect my recruitment prossess. I am trying to finish off school but I am really nervous about this now. Do you have any insight on this ro help ease my mind?

RJ I wish you better luck than I had, I was at the exact point you are, went through the exact process you are at now. But as I sit here typing this, there is no yellow stripe on the leg of my blue pants. If I can offer any insite/info, i'd be glad to give you my email address.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again...take a deep breath, and RELAX! Seriously, approximately 30-40% of applicants have to either rewrite the psych, or meet with the head doc. Its nothing to worry about, the problem with the MMPII is that if you answer it the way you think they want it answered you'll screww yourself, as you answers won't match up. roughly 99% of the 30-40% pass the "interview" with the psychiatrist with no problems.
