Has anybody heard anything about recruitment efforts for RCMP?  Did anybody get any news lately???

hey there,

i know how you feel. i'm frustrated as well. i'm waiting for my RPAT scores. it's only been a month since i wrote it, but i just want to know how i did so i can get on with things! where are you in the whole scheme of things? i'm from vancouver, so perhaps a municipal department would be more favorable. however the RCMP has always interested me. where are you from?

Well, I just wrote my RPAT on Saturday, Mar.2, so I'm really fresh on the scheme of things!  But I've been hearing so much stuff around here (I'm in Newfoundland) about troops getting cut and people getting cut from the Post Interview Rank List . . .I was wondering if it was the same across the board.  I feel the same way as you though, I'd love to know now how I scored.  I would love to be with the RCMP but if that process takes too long or I don't get in, I might apply to other forces elsewhere.  Keep me posted on your status!    And thanks for replying!

I'm in bc I wrote my rpat in june and got my package in November. I ran the pare no problem and now I sit and wait. Man this is a looong time to put your life on hold. I know of another applicant who is in the same boat as me. Nothing.

Ace..  I wrote my Rpat on June 6th and waited until mid september for my results. Then I had to wait until November 7th when I got my pkg in the mail.
I was told by Vancouver that they hope to have all the pkgs opened before the April draft soooo I guess I will wait... I'm getting to be good at that.

  I'm glad that I stumbled onto this message board. Its nice to see that I'm not the only one who is testing their patience   good luck

Well hopefully, you'll get in soon ;D.  It takes a lot of patience when you are trying to get into a police force! keep me posted on your status

Hey guys and girls,

   Don't you worry too much about everything that you hear from one source or the other. Try not to get too deep in the rumors machine that seems to control the RCMP recruiting process.  I graduated from Depot a couple months ago and let me tell you that even when you are there, you don't really know what is going on.  Nobody knew when the next troop was supposed to arrive or how many troops were supposed to come in the next fiscal year.  It took me 14 months to get to Depot.  If you are from Ontario or Quebec it may be more difficult to get in than if you are from an other province. Why? I dont really know, it just the way it is.  So be patient and it will all come together. Good luck to all of you...and for the selected one, you'll soon realize that all the waiting was worth it. Simon.

It is hard to stay focused when you are so anxious!   And you get nervous when you hear of people getting dropped from the Post-Interview Rank List!  But, I have been trying not to think about it too much . . .just patiently wait and see what happens.  So where are you posted??  Congratulations and good luck  8)

for all of those that have received your RPAT scores back, how long did you have to wait? has anyone written in january received their scores yet? what sort of scores would a minority male need?

I wrote on December 12th and received my score (4.29) on January 11th.

WOW . . . excellent score DT.  I didn't find the exam extremely hard . . .but some questions required a little too much thought for the time that I had so I guessed and moved along!

Thanks! Let me put it this way. I totally shocked myself. In fact when I got the the mail that day (a Friday) I said to myself that I wasn't prepared to have a lousy weekend because I failed the test. My knees were a little shaky as I opened it. I am 42 years old so I have been out of school a long time. But when I read 4.29...wow! And I figured my weakest area would be the math but turned out I scored highest on that part. Just goes to show you never know for sure. Now like a lot of applicants I await the arrival of an application package hopefully. All these rumours floating around don't help the waiting. Take care.

I found the vocab section out of this world . . .and like I said the math section  . . . I didn't have time to think.  On a better note, I didn't find the judgement, memory or observation sections that hard!  I really hope that I scored above the cut-off mark.  If not, I'll wait and rewrite!  One thing is for sure, I'll definitely know how to prepare this time to score higher, if I don't make it.  Good luck to you anyway DT, I'm sure you'll be getting your package any day now!
