Got my call tonight. Doing my panel on Apr 5th at 1000 hours! Gives me lots more time to make sure I'm prepared.

Wow, I guess it's good to know you get lots of notice to prepare and plan ahead (good for us out of town too) although I'm sure you've thought out your answers a number of times already . A month tends to fly by before you know it so try not to become impatient (I just know I'd be going crazy). All the best to you. Can't wait to hear how it goes! D's Wife

I believe he said, that he got by the polygraph. So I guess he has a background check now, and then onto the selection panel board.
By the way, congratulations Journey. Another step upwards.

Hi all,
What is the passing mark for the APCAT and the WCT? I can't find the info anywhere on the CPS website. I know it says the APCAT has 120 questions but what percentage are they looking for?
Thanks, D's Wife

Ooops,
Just went through the old posts and realized that someone had already posted the pass mark for the APCAT....70% to pass. What about the WCT though, how hard is that on the marking/passing side of things. What kind of marks do you get or is it strictly pass or fail?
Thanks, D's Wife

Alright J, good to hear things are moving along. Apirl will come up fast. you will do just fine.
DSwife
I am just waiting for my backgrounds to clear. Hopefully they won't take to long. On the APCAT you need an 84/120 to pass, higher the better of course. WCT is a pass or fail.
Went to a nasty call last night. A guy fell from the 2nd floor balconey and landed on his head on the cement. Not pretty.
anyways, will let you know when I hear anything new.

I believe 84 out of 120 for the APCAT, and the WCT is just a simple pass or fail. No mark is given percentage wise for the WCT.

I was reading an article somewhere online and came across something I thought I would double check with those of you here. Does CPS have a strict no facial hair rule with their dress code? With not living in the Calgary area I can't just check this one out by observation And Malaka, where in the process are you now? I appreciate reading your posts but I haven't been able to put my finger on how far along you are at this point. Thanks, D's Wife

Thanks for the congrats everyone! Its much appreciated ;D
As for the facial hair thing. There is a policy against beards and goatees but moustaches are fine. During the last work to rule campaign (2002 ?) part of their protest included the growing of goatees by all male members and the wearing of ball caps with the slogan "Back the Blue".

Well for now I am being delayed, I was diagnosed with a small but possibly correctable medical disorder. Never knew I had this problem, just out of the blue. I have struggled well over a year in the recruiting process and have encountered one road block after another. I have to get this diagnosted and corrected before I move ahead. I can tell you that I am not stopping yet, I will use the next few months to experience more with the police. Most people I have met thru the police have taken quite awhile to get into the service. Most have expressed to me that it is just a matter of time.

Malaka,
That's too bad that you've hit such a delay. Good for you for keeping on though. When it's something you really want then it's worth working towards even if something so unexpected comes up. Hopefully it won't be long before you find everything you need to take care of it and move on the the next step. I agree, the more people you talk to the more you realize that the under-a-year until hiring is really the minority.
All the best, D's Wife
