Does anyone have info on whether it takes less time for the BGI the second time around, or do they do it all over again?

Hey!! Cpl Mike! Good to see you back! Yeah, I'm still sitting here not getting hired...ah well. Shit happens, you deal with it and move on. 2 deferals from the RCMP and one from CPS...Maybe I should look at a different line of work LOL. It seems I made too many bad decisions as a young lad to get on around here...So much for life experience, and learning from your mistakes.

Hey everyone...the polygraph is now being used for all RCMP applicants, I just had mine today, they don't tell you if you pass or fail, I was quite honest about everything, so I think I passed...but does anyone know what the next step is and how long it takes recruiting to contact you, I've already passed my selection interview

J2CPS- don't let some brushes in life stop you-once wrote here about a buddy that it took almost (10) yrs before he got hired ( he joined the L.A. comm.college district PD,a small dept of about 120 officers; the dept was absorbed in '98 by the Los angeles county sheriffs Dept -the largest sheriffs Dept in the U.S. and he got a raise and became a hard core Deputy!) Now I hope it won't take you ten yrs, but I wonder if there are equally decent paying alternatives in your area of Canada,i.e. transit police, college District Police officer ?Somethig thaty can satisfy your current ambitions, but give you that work experience and show these recruiters that you've got what it takes. It seems that the provinces of Canada, and their cities have the same problem- they demand recruits due to the lower applicant rates, yet grind out so many people in backgrounds, quite a few over "opinions" or over petty issues,i.e. shop lifting candy and cigarettes at 16 or 17 isn't the same as assaulting someone when you're over 21 ,or getting several speeding tickets at 25 or 27 isn't the same as drunk driving at 30 and trying to apply.Keep the faith-there a badge out there for you........

Hello, I had my polygraph last week too with RCMP "E" division. It went well. Just wanted to know, how long it will take before I get the call from recruiting. Please help. I have followed the posts for RCMP off and on for about (4) yrs now! I'm still trying to figure out why the Heck does it take soo long to process for RCMP? !!!! I have read and even,re-read some of the posts, and guys/girls literally grow gry hairs processessing for the "Mounties"-It must be the be all /do all PD-federal ( nationwide) county Cops/municipal,traffic enforcement, narcotics enforcement,Anti-terrorism,etc-they seem to do it all ( Mounties even come down from the "great north" yrly to Calif. to run the 120 mile "Baker to Vegas" relay-with the last 6 mile leg, the "hollywood" leg run by mounties in full traditional gear-talk about some motivated individuals)!!! but why 2 to 4 yrs for the process? If the troups are full-why bother processing or testing? if they are soo short of people it doesn't seem to take 2-4 yrs( hell, even in California - the longest time to process is 18 months for most municipal /state/county agencies, and even our federal Depts up to the FBI will process you in a t least 12 months. There must be an overwhelming amount of applicants or either theres politcal/financial issues( does each Province demand a certain# be hired from their own backyards?)-anyway stay ,encouraged all you applicants 2be"-the race is won by those who endure and quite a few have made it here........

My BI started about 2 months ago ('O' division). They contacted all the references I gave, but the investigator said they had to now go back and verify everything I put in the application. That was the last I heard - about three weeks ago. Still have heard nothing about a medical or psych test.
