Since there have been requests for peoples timelines, I thought I would start a new thread, outside of the main RCMP one, instead of cluttering it up. Please TRY to post timelines only, or related questions...just to keep it cleaner...ya, ya, I know I'm being anal...
My timeline is as follows:
Aug 02 - Info Session
Sept 02 - RPAT
Nov 02 - RPAT marks - 4.07
Feb 03 - Package
Mar 03 - Package in to Edmonton (K div)
Apr 03 - PARE - 3:42 + 5sec matt penalty
July 03 - Selection and Security interview (passed)
July 03 - Waiting for med package, and official start of BGI. Hopefully next week or two...
July 31st 2003 - DEFFERED!! could not obtain security clearance due to the fact that I have not been discharged from bankruptcy for 2 years.

Feb 1/03 - Info Session
March 15 - RPAT
May 6 - RPAT Score - 4.20
May 21 - Received package
Can not return package until Aug 6 - Sept 4
July 27 - Ran PARE - 3:49
Aug 7 - Sent in package

My "E" Division Timeline - October 2002- Info Session November 7, 2002 - RPAT December 2002 - RPAT Score - 4.03 May 2003 - Received Package June 17, 2003 - PARE - 3:35 June 30, 2003 - Returned Package August 7, 2003 - Scheduled for Security Interview Wow, you sure got your security interview scheduled quickly. What was your window for returning your package? I returned mine just a few days after you. Unlike most of you I'm kind of hoping to drag out this process because I still have two years to go to finish my degree. |

Hi Captain Airport,
The timeframe that I had to return my package was from June 6 to July 4, 2003. I was quite surprised myself that my interview was scheduled within about a month of handing my application package in...I thought it would be closer to November or December.

Sep (2002) - Attended session
Nov - Wrote RPAT
Dec - Got RPAT score
May (2003) - Got Package
June - Ran PARE, Sent package back
July - Answered severl 'clarifying' questions on package
Aug- Security interview scheduled

Mar 03 - Received result - 4.33
Apr 03 - Received application package
Apr 03 - Ran PARE (3:57) and mailed off package
Jul 03 - Suitability + Security Interview
Currently waiting for BGI to start

July 18, 2003 - Background Completed
July 24, 2003 - All info received... working on Final Checks and Read Through
July 31, 2003 - Completed and placed on Sgt.'s desk
Aug 12, 2003 - Troop 14 on August 24th

A little ahead of myself, but anyway...  Information Session: August 15th, 10:00AM In particular, I am looking to ask questions in regards to law enforcement of federal laws and computer crime (an area I am most interested in - graduating with a BS in Computer Science in 1 year). So we will have to see how things go from there |

I think you need a MIN of 5 years as a Cst before you can apply to the GIS (?) Units, and from what I hear they like you to have 8 or more years before you get accepted...I could be wrong on that.
Uh oh! Jus tbroke my own rule for this thread!! D'oh! Perhaps it should be continued in the RCMP thread....
