Hey Marcus,
Both Jas & I have completed all the stages.
From one of the post, I understand that there were no troops heading out during July.
Things should pick up starting August.

YC - the way things are going with staffing you can expect at least one year or more (Info Session to Depot). Little bit of info for all who are waiting.. I was speaking to my file manager the other day, she told me that they have cancelled Troops in July and Aug Christmas break and Summer Holidays. But they are sending troops again starting Aug 10. Jas Bas, According to the above, next troop will go out sometime in mid or late August. Jag

Hey All,
There are always two weeks in July where there are no new Troops starting, otherwise they would be graduating during Christmas Break.
I was told that they ended up cancelling two more just for a summer break... been so busy.

I've just started checking this message board everyday now (a couple times a day it seems), and I wanted to say 'hey' to everyone else in the application process Well, as I am still early (very early) in the application process, I have little to report on my progress - but I am eager I am attending an information session on Aug. 15 (I have a good number of questions) and I am looking forward to this. I know the application process will take a good deal of time, but I am prepared to wait. In the meantime, I am joining the foot patrol volunteer program at my university (1 year to grad.) and so I am hoping this will make my application stand out even further. My only real worries (besides the 'eye surgery' I will need done to be accepted) is any life experience requirements. I am only 25, so I don't have a lot of life experience in this area (other than the volunteer work regarding the foot patrol I hope to take part in). Education wise, I have 2 college diplomas and will have 1 degree (Computer Science) in a year. What do you think my chances are with my 'experience'?

Macguy,
That was quick!! but that's a good thing. I think that "E" division does the security first then the selection another day, but that could have changed. "K" does selection in the AM and if you pass, the security right after. Makes for a long day, but at least it's all finished at once.
Dejao, I would worry TOO much about the experiences, you'd be suprised at what has happened in your life, even stuff you may have forgotten. when I was doing my experiences my wife thought of a couple things that I had completely forgotten about, so if you can talk to all your friends and relatives, and reminiss (sp) about the past it may trigger alot of experiences. Also don't overlook your post secondary experiences...there is alot of stress in post secondary that you have to deal with...
Glad to see people moving along in the process...I'm STILL waiting for my medical package...I know, I know, good things come to those that wait...and wait, and wait, and.... ;D

Dejao, I agree with j2d, at 25 you would most likely have encountered, stress, integrity delemas, personal achievements, obtained your set goals, etc. If you lack in being a leader, put your self in a position where you organize something, or supervise people (volunteer work is a place to look), if you don't do too much public speaking.....join Toastmasters. You might have thought that was the geek club in high school, but it will give you a world of experience.
I think if you take the 7 comps listed on the rcmp web site, you can figure out where you lack experience and work on it.
Jag, you are from BC....are you also from BC Jas? And how long did your BI take?

Dejao, Like J2D and CAB said you will be surprised how much "life experience" you have when you sit down and think about it. If you think you are lacking in any one area continue doing what you are doing and volunteer to many different places to get that "life experience" you need. If your application proceeds like most people on this board you will have plenty of time to get all the experience you need. Good luck to those who have there interviews scheduled.

Dejao, I am in the same boat here with regards to community involvement. But I intend to fix that with the volunteer program at the University. Your school probably have something similar setup and it's an excellent way to sharpening the leadership and people skills.

Hey all, I am working on the experience bit by bit, and I am reviewing my past for positive experiences (leadership, conflict resolution, goal achievement, etc). I have had some experiences that I think I can work with - thanks for the suggestions As far as the process goes, time is something I have an abundance of

I wrote on April 15th, and got my score (4.20) July 23rd. My sister wrote in the same session as myself but has yet to receive her score for some reasons.

Cab,
Yes, Jas is B.C. As for myself, I am in Calgary, Alberta.
My Field Investigation took about a week. However, the investigator had the file for about two weeks in total.

What do they look for in the field investigation? I don't talk to my neighbors and I moved around alot, also I caused some trouble in highschool haha.
Will that cause a problem?
