Thanks Mountie2be,
I am going through the process in "K" division. I live in Calgary and according to recruiting my background file has been sent to Regina for Review. So far, everything has gone very smooth but it has required a lot patience and a shot of PMA (Postive Mental Attitude)!

Hey guys. I finished my PARE (4:16 with one mat), and I'm sending off my application today. I just hope CP doesn't go on strike... I've heard rumblings that they will. Perhaps I should consider running it downtown to the recruiting office myself by hand? Last thing I want after all this work is to have it 'get lost' in the mail!! Now comes the waiting game for the interview.... (Oh yeah, I'm doing like Jeff did, and keeping a weblog on my application at www3.telus.net/MacGuy/rcmpquest if you're interested!)

Congrats on PARE! Thus the journey starts.
As a suggestion, I would send your package by UPS or other courier service. As you might know, you can track the delivery via internet.
Good Luck! Jag

Hey Macguy and Jag. Welcome to the "group". Macguy...word to the wise, just be VERY careful about what you post on your site. Ottawa will find it and make sure everything is Kosher. Unfortunatly my site will be down permenantly I'm not going to take the chance that something incorrect goes up there again. Plus I've been hearing rumors that Ottawa is going to really start cracking down on applicant websites. It might end up being more of a pain than its worth...Just my 2 cents... ;D Also on the rumor front. I've recently heard that the Poly will be in place by Mar of 04. one det in "K" div already has the room set up, they are just waiting for the other ones to have it as well before they start implementing it...just rumors though, nothing is for sure until someone actually goes through it, but it's something to keep in mind.. Thanks for the welcome, guys. And J2D... thanks for the advice. I'll make sure my site is very 'clean' and won't cause me a conflict of interest. If I get even a hint it might be a problem, I'll have to take it down... but I hope it doesn't get to that point!
FYI, my timeline, so far:
Sep (2002) - Attended session Nov - Wrote RPAT Dec - Got RPAT score May (2003) - Got Package June - Ran PARE, Sent package back

Welcome to all the new people joining this site. I found the information and support displayed by this site very motivational as I was going through the recruiting process. I'm surprised that Ottawa is cracking down on so many websites but I guess it's a security issue. You sign a piece of paper stating that you will not reveal any information about the RPAT or Interview. But I don't think link will get hit. Nobody has said anything on here that would breach that agreement. If anything, if Ottawa reads this website, they will see how cadets-to-be feel as they go through the process. Anyway, good luck guys, have faith and good luck! Ace13

Good to see there are a lot of new people on board, welcome guys the more the merrier.
Jag, have you finished your medical and just waiting for the background check to be completed or has everything been completed and your just waiting for the final approval?
Does anybody know if they wait until the medical is completed before they start the background check? Or does it depend what divison you are in? Are the refrences the final part of the background check? Sorry for all the questions at once but I'm at the part of the process where I no longer have any control over my fate so I guess Im getting a little antsy.
J2D, good luck once again on the interview date. It seems like its a lot closer than you were expecting hopefully there will be no more surprises! My interviewer was retired as well hopefully you have the same guy...he was great.

therecruit1,
I have completed my medical. I did all the blood work and lab test. I saw the Doctor a few days later with the results. The Doctor gave me the impression that everything was cool. However, when I spoke to recruiting I was told that it has not been cleared yet and it could take up 4 months (maybe longer) to clear. I guess someone in recruiting signs off on the medical.
As for the background check, it seems to me that the investigator completes his or her field investigation and forwards it to Recruiting. Then it is forwarded to Regina for review. However, I am not sure if they only forward it when there is a concern or if it is normal procedures.
What stage are you at? Jag

Hey All,
I am currently completing some medical docs to send into the K Div recruiters. How long do you think I will have to wait after that to get my interview (assuming they like what they see in my application to date)?
Cheers

Hey everyone, the site was a bit slow over the weekend, good to see things have picked up.I was beginning to have withdrawl symptoms.Cops2be has become a regular part of my day. Dragon, I am not sure where Blackville is, but I do know where Grand Manan is. Where would you like to be posted? Mountie2be, I am afraid you may have opened a big can of worms syaing that you have a copy of the"Forbidden Places" show.Like J2D, I too have been searching the net for info on this show. I think you will have to start up a mail order business just for cops2be. J2D, congrats on your new interview date. I am sure getting a new date has set you at ease a bit. Jag, welcome to the site. Sounds like the process is running smoothly for you.Good luck. WOW!! A post from THE Ace13 !! She is a living legend on this site! Good to hear from you again Ace! I am curious what everyones family situation is. Are most of you single or Married? How about kids? How supportive is your family in this? I have been married for ten years and have two kids (3 and 7). My wife has been incredible through this. I really appreciate her for this because I know it will not be easy for her to be a single mom for 6 months while I am away and it is asking a lot of her to be ready to pack up everything, leave friends and a job she enjoys and move anywhere in Canada. What about you guys?
