This is probably more for current Regular Members who are still reading this site. Is anyone familiar with a section of the RCMP admin manual that allows RCMP Civilian Members to convert to Regular Member? I heard something about this but don't know details. Does a C/M have to go through the same process as anyone off the street or can they just request a change of category if they have a good employee record and are able to pass the cadet program? I think if one didn't pass the cadet program they just go back to their civilian job which is held for them just in case. Thanks for any light that can be shed on this.

Guest, I'm pretty sure that civilian member have to go through the same process as anyone else. A friend of mine was working as a civilian member and had to write the exam and wait out the process just like all of us. This is probably more for current Regular Members who are still reading this site. Is anyone familiar with a section of the RCMP admin manual that allows RCMP Civilian Members to convert to Regular Member? I heard something about this but don't know details. The interview that wasn't.... I was on my way to my interview this AM, when I got a call from the recruiter saying he couldn't do it today, but I could discuss it at the office. Alright, maybe he had something come up, and just needs to reschedule...Unfortunatly that wasn't the case...Someone in Ottawa saw my website, and they have some problems/legality issues with something on my website. I don't know what it is at this time, so there won't be any updates for a little while, if ever...I'm hoping to hear more information soon, but it could be a week it could be a lot longer. My advice to anyone with a website...get rid of it, or make damn sure the info there is OK to have public access. Other option is to password protect it so only authorised people have access...Ah well, that's the way it goes. I'm pretty sure there is nothing "top sercret" on it but who knows... Slightly frustrated... J2D

J2D, so you're still going to get an interview right? They just have to look at your web site and stuff?

Not for sure...I would think so, but it depends on what Ottawa has to say about whatever it is that is causing the problems. Hopefully it's just something small and I can just remove the offending info and continue on...

I can't remember who, but another recruit had a website journalling the process and they were told to remove certain things for legal purposes (like RCMP logo) and once he did they were satisfied, so don't worry about it, I am sure this is just a minor set-back. Good luck.

Sorry to hear about the interview J2D but don't be discouraged, I'm sure it will be just a small thing that you will have to edit from your web site. Keep your chin up and stay positive through this. Onedaysoon your countdown is on, you'll do fine I'm sure, just go over the 8 qualities and find at least two life experiences for each one. Well I got good news today, recruiting CALLED , my interview is going to be July 23 ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D AWESOME. I'm so excited, I finally know when. Everyone please keep all body parts crossed for me........ Tim

It was Jamaf that was told to remove certain things on his website. He just passed depot and is now a full member. I wouldn't worry about it.

J2D, sorry to hear about that upset with the interview..I am sure it is minor and can be easily corrected...for the record, it is an awesome site. Tim, congrats on getting the interview date....how nice to have a few weeks to prepare for it, I have heard of short intervals between the notice and interview but I think the couple of weeks there will help you mentally prepare for it and get a couple of practice interviews in if you can. The one tip everyone keeps telling me about the interview, wear a nice suit...dark in color if you have it...you probably already heard that but passing it along just in case. To everyone else out there in the process, hope all is well..keep your stick on the ice. Mountie2be

So, suprising as it is, Ottawa got back to recruting last night. the problem it seems was..........................wait for it.............. The practice interview questions. Unfortunatly it was recomended that I just remove the site completly, but I would rather have no site, and an interview than a site and no interview. Know what I mean. I don't have my next date yet, but it won't be until mid August, since the recruiter is on holidays all of July. I have some more info but I'm not going to post it publicly, since I'm worried about who's reading what now... J2D
