On a somber note I just read that an RCMP officer from Sherwood Park Alberta was killed today when his unmarked cruiser collided with a dump truck. I am sure I speak for everyone here when I say our thoughts are with him, his family and the entire LE community. It is a tough thanksless job.

Thanks for the info ACE, I was able to find lots of info on the MMP12 on the net. It seems like you have had a wide variety of calls, you must be learning a lot. If I make it through the process I hope to get posted to a busy detachment as well.
My heart goes out to the family, friends and co-workers of RCMP officer who was killed in the traffic accident today. It sure does make a COP2be realize what he or she may be getting themselves into.

"Great to hear Tim" Guest - if I were you I would contact your file manager to inquire about your file (medical)...... It can't hurt and I am sure they wouldn't mind. Congratulations to Jamaf who graduated on the weekend - check out the new pics he posted... www.geocities.com/rcmprecruit/Gradpics.htmlthanks for the "Depot" info Jeff. Jas

Way to go Jamaf!! ;D I'm sure your wife is just giggling with excitment!! It appears that Jamaf's website has become VERY popular, since he has exceeded his bandwidth limit...*G* bet he NEVER thought he would get that many visitors when he started the sight...Maybe I can find the pics on the family members forum... Quick update on myself, only 5 days until my interview...5 DAYS!!! ...starting to get more nervous. I did my mock interview with a CPS member, and it went pretty good. He gave me lots of info and things to add/subtract from my answers. Still trying to cram more experiences into my brain...it hurts...to get as prepared as I can...Here's hoping!! Great news Tim, I knew you wouldn't be to far behind me!! J2D

J2D, good luck with the interview. I am from Edmonton and am going through the process now. Like you, I have to complete some medical forms and submit them before my applicaiton proceeds further. I am in the process of getting the report together now. This site has been a huge inspiration and source of support. Tim, congrats on upcoming interview. As things progress, I'll be sure to drop more threads. I have posted already under the heading of Dream Job. I just registered.

Holy lot of postings Batman!!...gee I leave you guys for a couple of hours and everybody goes nuts. How exciting...Congrats to Tim on the interview call...good luck my man.. here's rootin for ya. And congrats to Jamaf on Graduation from Depot...I checked out the website, awesome...great inspiration. We will all be there someday. As I said before I love the websites some of you have created and seeing grad pics kind of puts a finishing touch on that goal we are all reaching for. J2D, only a couple more days to interview...glad to see you had access to a resource to pratice the interview..that is a good idea...I will have to line something like that up myself when I get to that stage...you can never have too much preparation. Good luck. I have to mention how impressed I have been with this site overall, has anyone else noticed the reading count...how many people read this in a run of a day...imagine if each of them posted...it would be overwhelming..good stuff. Have a good day... Mountie2be

Hey all! I've been reading and researching the RCMP process and am thinking of starting this long wait. My only concern/question is that my eye sight isnt up to par with the basic standard (I have 20/100 in both eyes and they want 20/60). Is laser eye surgery an option? Has anyone gone through this procedure to attempt their dream? Any info on this would be appreciated. Thnx
