Question "therecruit1"
Did they give you a choice on the date for the interview or just tell you when to be there.. I am worried because i have a trip planned in a couple weeks for a couple weeks...

DRAGON, its my understanding that you receive a letter stating that you will be getting a interview and then they contact you by phone for the actual date. At least thats what happened in my case. ONEDAYSOON, when they contacted me for my interview they asked me if I could come in on a certain date but it seemed like it was flexible. It shouldn't be a problem if you can't make it on the date they originally give you. Just so you know I got my call only a week after getting my letter. So be ready just in case!!!

Hey Guys,
Well I didn't get any letter, just a phone call for the security interview. It was for the following week of the call. My selection interview is for the first week of June. I have gone over my history, and done some questions. Don't know what else I can do. Just the wait now until June, which is just around the corner. Keeping my fingers crossed.
Being out on patrol with the local Police department as a reserve is going very well. Had some interesting calls. Domestics, impaired driver, B&E in progress, etc. Nothing like going into someones home at night looking for bad guys...learning tons of stuff. Feels great to be out in full uniform in a patrol car. Last week we responded to a intoxicated male passed out on the sidewalk. When we arrived on scene he was up and staggering around. While we were interviewing him, he told me that I looked funny..lol and asked me if I get a lot of people calling me funny looking....lol then he says he didn't want to piss me off or I would probably beat the #$$% out of him..I chuckled...drunk people are sometimes pretty funny..afterwards my partner looked at me and said that I do look kinda funny looking..LOL
Oneday, good to see that things are starting to move a long for you. I can't find your number, I was going to give ya a call. I will keep you all updated on how things go at the interview.
Chat later, G
Becoming a cop isn't something that happens overnight. It takes a good solid weekend of training to get that badge...lol

Hi there. Just waiting for my registration to go through, so until then I'm using a 'guest' account.
Anyhow. I just got my package in the mail, the initial application one that's an inch and a half thick, and wants to know what size underwear you buy and how often you go to the bathroom. Talk about intimidating! I never knew there was so much paperwork.
But, despite it all, I'm still totally jazzed over this. I have my package, and I'm one small step closer to my dream. I see from the forum here, that I'm not alone. ;D
Oh yeah, I'm from BC... and I got in with a 3.51... if you can believe it. I was certain that I was going to get a dear john letter... but I got my package anyway!
Now comes the daunting task of trying to track down all the records and papers that I need to apply. Wish me luck!

Dragon,
If they send you "The" package, it doesn't always mean you get a interview. Just as long as everything checks out, then you will. Most will. But lets say your eye exam or hearing exam doesn't meet their requirement. They will phone you and ask you about it, maybe ask for a redo on the eye or ears...or if you really mess up the package, or miss a page or two..,they will send it back and your back to square one. But as long as you complete the package and everything else...bingo.. They phoned me and said that they went through and opened my package and everything looks good. One question about my fathers death back in 1979 and that was it. She then said she would be handing it over to another Cst who would contact me for the security interview. That took about three months, then got the call. So hang in there guys....
Chat later. G

They usually interview in blocks of four and only one will make it through. You have to be prepared better that the other three.

I am beginning to see some humor in my unsuccessful interview. As we all know the RCMP experience is a hurry up and wait situation. I had my interview on May 8th (a Thursday) and on May 12th (a Monday) I got the letter stating that they ".......are unable at this time to proceed further with my application for employment with the RCMP........". Imagine if all correspondence with them could happen this fast! I was notified of my interview with a phone call. They gave me the open dates and I picked the time and day that worked best for me.
