Hi,
Congratulation for all of you who were succesfull in the selection process. The hardest part is finally over.
For the folks that are already at Depot, you probably realise by now, there is no way to fail Depot. The standards are so low that even the laziest person will pass the course. Sad but so true.
That being said, if you learn how to think outside the box and give your 100% all the way all the time, you'll be ready to meet all the challenges you'll face in the street.
Take care. Simon.
By the way, MarcusinMb, I was with in the CF regular Infantry for 5 years, in wich unit are you now?

Simon - thanks for the info. I'm not afraid of Depot at all, but I hope to be pushed to the limit at times anyway. I will go there with a good, positive attitude and attempt to do my best.
If you register as a member, I'd be happy to exchange my particulars to you via Private Messages as opposed to posting on this public forum. I hope you understand.
Hope to hear from you soon, I'm sure I'd like to pick your brain a bit for tips and post-Depot details. Enjoy the Christmas season.

Jamaf, congrats again on your success! I've enjoyed reading your webpage and hearing about your experiences. I can vicariously enjoy you finally getting the nod. You have really lucked out in terms of weather. It is unusually warm right now...not bad for a west coast boy to ease into! Good luck to you, and to all others on this forum. I have checked in with recruiting a couple times and nothing new regarding the BI has come back. So I wait. I had really hoped to get the word before Xmas (although that was a totally unrealistic expectation) and I was kind of bummed out when it didn't happen. However, I did get to go on a ridealong (my first one) at the end of December and that was most excellent. But hopefully in the next couple of weeks...keep your fingers crossed for me! Dave

Hi No posts in awhile. For those still waiting...any word yet? Jeff has been incredibly busy his first week at Depot. They don't get internet access untill next week so I'm sure he is looking forward to getting a post on here. It has been a really big adjustment for him....the food.....trying to sleep through the trains at all hours of the night...etc. He was issued alot of his RCMP clothing this week - winter/spring coats, boots, hats, cuffs, etc. He gets his uniform today and they start wearing them next week. He has met afew of the others from this board there and says it has been nice to put faces to the names. Hopefully he will be able to add his own post soon.

Hi, pass on best wishes to Jeff! Is the food really that bad? I spoke to someone in recruiting today. Things are progressing on my BI, a few more things to come in yet. From what she said it doesn't sound to me like February is likely. I'm going to guess beginning of March - but what do I know? later, Dave

Hi, for those in Depot right now, or otherwise in the know: Looks like I have some time yet to wait before going. Based on the physical stuff you are doing in training, is there anything you'd recommend? I've been running 3x a week since summer, lifting weights 3x a week for a couple years, and I play with my kids every night I was playing floor hockey Sep-Oct, which was great for cardio, but stopped going after October as it didn't start until 9:30 at night. That's too close to bedtime, with my schedule. I get up at 4:30 AM these days to get a workout in before starting work at 7:00 AM. I'm thinking the early mornings won't be a problem, but the late nights working on assignments and stuff will be at first. Could you give an idea of the physical standards (running, lifting, etc etc) one has to meet? I'm relatively new to running so I'm kind of concerned there. I did do my PARE in 3:52 so I'm not too worried about that though. Any other info on PT while there would be great! take care, Dave
