Thanks everyone. Dave-I'm in the Army like you, I'll PM you tomorrow and we'll talk. Calgary, as you've been told, is an excellent dept to work for, I wish you good luck.
To everyone at Depot, keep up the good work. I'm sure I'll have some questions in the future but am just letting this all settle in. I've asked enough questions in the past to know what to expect...and I've been thru Military Training, and I've been thru University...I hear Depot is a combination of the two. Have a good weekend.

Way to go marcusinmb. It must be nice to at least know a date. I hope for my sake that you are right and I beat you there. But knowing my luck with this process lately you will be letting me know how you are doing ;D
Storm or Ace13... When do you find out where you are going to be posted? Do they at least tell you what province or is it all a big guess untill the end?

They don't tll you much on posting till near the end. Even then it is first a division and then a detachment. SO, until then alwys remember the operational needs of the Force are first, and you agreed to go anywhere.

Hi guys, Sorry it has been so long since my last post, I got tied up with "depot" stuff. It's been pretty busy with files, patrol drives, etc. during the evening hours that I barely get time to check my internet email/cops2be. Congrats Marcusinmb. If you arrive here before Jan 31, you'll be here for my halfway party at the Stand Easy Lounge! My best advice to you, would be to bring some collared shirts to eat at the mess. It doesn't have to be all dress shirts, golf shirts and turtleneck sweaters work as well. When you get here, find myself or Storm and we'll help you out with any questions. It's not hard to pick us out because we are the only "non-depot" couple here. Things are going well here. I started strikes (boxing drills) in PDT last week, that's quite the workout. I enjoy it though. This week coming, I am on the advanced driving track, that should be a blast. I'm just looking forward to Christmas now though, to get a break and let my injuries heal a little! It's hard to believe that I'm in week 9! Time flies by here! Take care guys and good luck! Ace13

Thanks for the info ACE13. Unfortunately, won't be there for your Half-Way Party on 31 Jan. That's my enrollment date here in Wpg, I won't be jumping into the vehicle for the 5 hr drive west to Regina until the next day, 1 Feb. Actually, I have a sister who lives in Weyburn, SK (pull out your Sask map, it's about 45 mins SE of Regina) so I might spend the night of 31 Jan there.
Glad to hear everything is going good and quickly also. It is hard to believe you're in week 9! Seems like just yesterday you were talking about your bad 'urinalysis' test and that you didn't know when you'd get to Depot! I hope Depot goes by quickly for me as well. I'm not looking forward to the 22 weeks of no paycheques, I kind of enjoy my present salary in the military. But my pension time is directly transferrable to RCMP so, down the road, it'll all be worthwhile.
Have a good week and I'm sure I'll PM you and Storm over Christmas holidays with more queries.
Hang in there also Jamaf. No updates to report?

HI guys Long time no post. Its been an interesting week to say the least. I was contacted by my recruiter last Tuesday. She told me that she had seen my website. Wow, I was quite shocked that they had found it. She said that "we all have had a good look at it". I then asked if there was any new news on my file since I hadn't spoken to anyone in two weeks. She said that it was still downstairs and that she would transfer me down to the Sergeant who had my file. A minute later I was chatting with the Sergeant. The first thing she said was " I read through your website" HOLY COW how far had this gone?! I had created the website so that family and friends could keep track of my progress. Then she said, "we have a small problem". What had I done...?? You can only imagine what was going through my head. She then went on to say that they had a problem with a few RCMP graphics that I had "borrowed" from a few different RCMP websites. She politely asked me to remove them and then went on to say what a good job I had done and that everyone had enjoyed reading my site. I did not go into how many people "everyone" meant but I quickly deleted the graphics and then re read my entire site. Finally after taking my heart out of my throat I asked about my file. She said that it was sitting in front of her and that it was all done. "FINALLY AGAIN" She said that she was just about to sign it and send it upstairs. So HOPEFULLY again I will hear something in the next week. I really would like to know before Christmas. It would save me from running the relative gauntlet un armed. At least I would have more than the usual "no call yet" response to the question everyone asks whenever they see me.
