I contacted the Vancouver recruiting office this afternoon. My recruiter said that all my check are back for my BI except for Alberta. My contacts in Alberta were interviewed on Friday so they hopefully will arrive soon . She also said that they were waiting for my fingerprints to come back from Ottawa. I tried to get her to give me an approximate time for completion and she gave me the it all depends speech. >:(arrg ... so near yet so far.

Hey there, Started driving today, fun stuff! Time managment is truly the key to this place. YOU need to stay on your game all the time. You need to fit in 3 cardio and 2 resistance workouts a week. They are required. As well you need to fit in police defensive, driving , shooting and drill. Oh, and some sleep. We have not even started file work. I LOVE THIS PLACE! Anyone coming here anytime soon? Message me if you are. Storm

hey guys,
just wanted some input. when answering hypothetical type questions, is it best to answer what you think they want to hear, or what you'd actually do in a situation (which may not be what they want to hear). how did you guys find these type of questions during the interview? thanks.

Hey Storm I'm trying I'm trying ;D ;D Question? What is your day like? ie: you schedule. When do you have time to work out or shoot. Do you have to decide to do that as a troop or is it done on your own time(like you have any). Any input would be fantastic. Thanx

Jamaf, you'll be off to depot in no time!! Curious, I would answer any question the way that I would think I would react in the situation. Personally, I feel there is no point to make myself out to be something I'm not, it would eventually catch up with me at some point throughout training. If how I think is not what they want to hear, then I guess I'm not meant or don't have the aptitude to become a police officer. That's my opinion. The interview questions were pretty general, designed so that people with all different types of experiences can answer them. Because we sign a form stating we will not disclose the questions, that's about all I can say about it. The question are based on the compentences for the RCMP, as seen in the interview guide. Storm, I am hoping to be there before Christmas if all goes well!!!! Ace13

Jamaf,
Everything here in competencies is YOUR own responsiblilty. They assist you, but this is an adult learning enviroment. You don't workout or do your PDT training, they will ask you why you have not been keeping on top of things. My day starts at about 0530-0545 and goes till 2300. That includes classes, workouts, laundry, cleaning, bed making, assignments.
If you can get a copy of the Forbidden Places video shot here, then you will have a pretty accurate depiction of Depot.

That is a long day!! But I think you learn to adjust to it, like Storm said to me, "long days, short week". Apparently, time flies! Almost all my contacts have been contacted, only a few more left to go ;D Ace13

Thanks Cpl Mike. I'm sure hoping that Jamaf and I would be off soon!! I'm patient and anxious all in the one, we won't get much notice before we leave, but until we get the call to go, alot of things can't be done like booking airline tickets for Christmas, storing my car etc. Jamaf, Regina is flat!! At least I don't have to worry about running hills!! Later Ace13

Take Care,

J They said at the last info session I was at, that they will be implementing the polygraph test very soon. May even be part of the next recruiting block. But when excatly is the question. One should expect it or be prepared to take one. Always tell the truth and you will do fine. Chat later Glenn
