ACE - You're pretty checked out with your summary, only missed Jamaf by the looks of it. No offence intended I'm sure.
Good luck and congrats again to the recent 4 that got the nod. We're losing members at a rapid rate! That's quite promising since we went quite awhile without a Depot date. The pyschologist did fwd his report finally last week (as I stated before, I'm not overly insane anyways) but haven't heard from recruiting staff since so who knows? Things may be really backed up in Manitoba.

Way to go Slider1. This is about the only situation where it is good to see us lose people. Lets hope we all make it there in the near future! Hey there ACE13, you wouldn't happen to have the stats on which province the 4 going to depot were from? I have a feeling that I should have applied from BC!!

Good luck guys and don't forget to enjoy the pepper spray and tear gas!

Sporto, If you are talking about the four going to depot from this thread. I think that stillwaiting, Hopeful and Slider1 are from BC. Not sure about DDR. Correct me if I'm wrong. They are putting through a troop a week at depot. I know that NF are sending at least 1-2 people a week plus extras that can't be filled from other provinces. For example, the last troop that went through had 6 newfies, so 4 extra spots were available that other provinces didn't have anyone ready to send. Ace13

I can't stand the waiting game! Knowing that we are so close and can't do anything about it! It is brutal know ing that all I have left is for one prior employer to be called. The phone call to my boss here lasted about 7 minutes. Having to wait weeks for a 7 minute phone call is excrutiating! We just have to remeber that good things come to those who wait. My bosses son in law that I was refering to earilier in this post has received his call. He was told he would be in Troop 19 or 20 sometime in October but has been uped to a September troop. He leaves September 26 for depot.

Dont want to put all my eggs in one basket. Thought I might as well give it a shot. If I don't I will always wonder what might have been. That is weird that you mentioned that NF has been sending extra cadets because the other provinces don't have the troops to send themselves. When I talked to the recruiter here in Calgary last week he mentioned to me that there was a current list of about 75 applicants from ALberta that were compete and waiting for a class. He said that about 25% of them had been given the call for depot. One never can tell what piece of info to believe. It almost makes be beleive that the recruiters from each province are even kept in the dark sometimes or given the wrong info??!! You can never really trust anything your hear anymore except when you get the final call with your troop number and start date!

Sorry Glenn, didn't mean to miss you on purpose. No hard feelings ;D I know that NF sent 4 extras this month, because I knew a few of them personally. As well, when I was down at HQ for my interview, it was marked on the board that there were 2 being sent plus four extras that particular week. Perhaps the extra spots were from provinces other than Alberta. Although, you are definitely right, you really can't believe anything until you have your troop number. And it is awesome that people in this thread will be in the same troop, at least you know that you have the same feelings as others when heading off to depot. So Slider and Hopeful, do you know your ten codes yet!!! ? I was trying to help Storm remember all his and now I know them all myself! lol Ace13

I have the 10 codes pretty much down although it'll be a lot easier once I'm using them regularly and have some context for a few of them. I made myself some flashcards so I could try to become more reflexive with them.

Here is a kicker hopeful while I was memorizing my 10 codes I thought it would be good to go on a ride-along to hear them in use and try to cement them in my head. The two officers in the building at the time I arrived started to quiz me when they found out I was learning my 10 codes. I was doing well when one of them said well you had better make sure you know 10-62. I replied with my learned response " guard conversation" and She said no its lunch. I presided to argue the point and then she produced a "cheat card" showing me that in fact 10-62 ment lunch. They said that I should contact depot and see what that was all about. Here is a copy of the responce I got. :10 codes past code 24 or 25 depend on region. The codes that you are memorizing are specific to Buffalo division, the training division here at Depot. Codes are different past 25 to keep them a little more "secret" from region to region. I am surprised the constables did not know this, as they would have to change their own memorized codes as they changed regions themselves. Or at the very least after they left Depot to whichever region they were posted to.

On another note I had both my typing evaluation and my psych evaluation today. The psych evaluation was ok it was just LONG.. 572 questions long. I got tired of colouring in the little dark circles . If anyone hasn't done the typing test yet be prepared. I did not know that the rcmp wants NO mistakes. So on the first test I tootled along and got a nice 39wpm with 6 errors. Then the instructor informed me about the no errors thing. Next try 32wpm 2 errors. Crap this is hard . Last try I W E N T S L O W L Y and made sure every thing was right. finally 28wpm and no errors. I was thinking this was going to be a snap when I went in. But the no errors thing is a little goofy

Interesting to hear the typing thing. I went into my local college and had mine done. I think it was -5wpm for each error or somesuch. Scored 65 wpm with I think 1 error on a 5 minute test.
I'm a bit rusty as I am an automechanic these days ;D
