Hey storm,
What province are you from? If you are from BC you can probably expect your application to go a little faster than those of us in the other provinces. It sounds like you are at the medical portion of the application process. I don't mean to burst your bubble but I wouldn't plan on hearing about going to depot for the next 4-6 months or so (at least). I went through the medical portion about 4 months ago and expect to get my call for depot late this year or early next (for Alberta). Most people here have been in the application stage for 18 to 24 months before going to depot. What do you mean by online courses?
PS Congrats to you too DDR!

Hey there Sporto,
They sent as extra 4 from here last week. Here being Newfoundland, B Division. Along with the regular allotment of two. THings are picking up buddy around the country. You should expect things to go quicker. Depot is processing a troop a week. Plus other provinces that can't fill quotas are sending them out to other provinces that can. I have password and userid for the online portion they ask you to complete prior to going. Plus your cadet handbook and so on. My medical is next week, then I am ready to go. I have been in this process for 24 months, I only wish I was in it for 18. Storm

Just got called today from the constable doing my Calgary BI. He called to tell me that he contacted the last two places places of employment and one manager wont be back till the first week of Sept. Once that is done he is sending my package to K division ASAP. Kind of nice to have a time frame now. I thought it was especially nice that he called me back to let me know where I stood. The odd phone call regarding your application sure helps take off the stress of not hearing anything for weeks/months. I almost wish applicants could access a website utilizing their file number and a pass word to check the status of their applications. It would probaly free up the recruiters to finish processing candidates instead of answering calls from all us on edge applicants.

I know what you mean Sporto, the lackof knowing is the worst. Everyone kept telling me to keep calling and bug them till they give in and send you. I don't believe that is true, sure they know you are interested, but nagging on them all the time has got to get annoying, especially when they are swamped with work and trying to complete things. The coordinator here at 'B' Division told me she has told people to stop calling every week, she doesnt have the time to be answering and redirecting calls when nothing changes that quick. The waiting is the worst, but, good things come to those who wait. We all rant and rave here on this board about the slow progress and lack of communication, but none of us, none of us, wants to give up that chance to wear red serge. I think that determination is the one thing that truly sets Mounties apart. We wait and wait and wait. but, we would not want to be with anyone else.

Just thought I'd post that I got the call at last! Looks like I'll fly out the 7th for Regina. Hope to see you all there.
PS: I was right about my background check...the local boys just rushed through it and missed a bunch of stuff. Fortunately HQ kept on top of them this time so that they couldn't delay me any more.

Excellent Hopeful, I hope you have a great time at depot. This has been a great week for those of you who got your calls for depot. It's so good to hear that things are moving forward for you all. So that's three of you guys that will be at depot the same time. You will have to post either during or after depot and let us all waiting know how it goes. I am not sure what is happening with my background check. I don't even think that it has started yet. oh well! I'd say I have quite the wait ahead of me yet. Although I can't help but get excited every now and then when I hear about all you guys going to depot. Any advice for me as I wait?? Ace13

Congrats Hopeful,
I am sure the relief is almost surreal! Kick ass at depot and keep an eye out for a bald guy from Alberta (that would be me)! My boss just came in my office and said he got a message to call the Calgary recruiter for my background interview. One more former boss to contact in a weeks time and my application is finished. I hope to be joining you in the next month or so. Congrats again.

So let me get this straight, so far
Stillwaiting, Hopeful, DDR and Slider1 have their dates for depot already.
Storm is finishing up his final medical. Marcusinmb is waiting for medical results to come back and Jamaf is at the medical stage.
Sporto is in the last stage of background check. I (Ace13) am just starting the background check.
Coltray and Onedaysoon just wrote or is writing the RPAT.
Did I forget anyone?? I figure not many of you go back and read the 23 pages of this thread, so a summary is probably needed.
Congratulations to all of you so far! And for the rest of us waiting for the next step, the guys going off to depot can tell us that it takes patience!!!!

Way to keep track Ace..... I have my psych evaluation tomorrow and I have completed the online courses. So far so good. I have not heard from any one about my background investigation. As far as I know it hasn't started yet. On another note I went out and got some new running shoes a few weeks back. Stupid me I didn't wear them in. Now I have shin splints. Ouch. Doc says stop running for the next 2 weeks. oh well better now than at depot. The doctor said no prob they are very common and I should be fine in no time.
