K Div has already filled their spots in the August troops too. Meet some cadets when I ran the PARE who have their depot dates up until the end of August.

Well Journeytodepot-redux: LMD is great ... lots of beautiful weather and busy working days! The experience that you get here is unbelievable. Member who have only been here for 2-3 years have already moved on to specialized sections such as drugs, homicide, gangs etc. Sometimes it's so busy that it is hard to get time for paperwork. Unfortunately in those situations, voluntary overtime is required to keep up on the paper flow. Overall, it is awesome. I love my career! Hope things are well for you. Take care Ace13

So with the RCMP if you have to work overtime to do paperwork you don't get paid overtime?
Curious as I have heard with the VPD there is alot of opportunity to work OT if you want. Is that the same in the RCMP?

As with anything it varies... depends where you are and what you are working on.

I probably won't be posting much anymore, because this site is mainly for people in the recruiting stages and I'm sure the people on the site do not want to hear from me, rather talk to people in their own situations. Although, out of curiosity, I do check in once and a while to see how people are doing. If anyone has any questions that they would like to ask me, send me a personal message, I'll do the best I can to give you my opinion. This site was very helpful to me throughout the process and I thank cops2be.com for that. You're always welcome here, Ace

FYI: k div applicamts are now being polygraphed by the RCMP. Did you hear that at an info session? Because they have been saying that for the past 4 years. I am at my BGI and there is no indication of me taking the poly. They only right now use the poly on people who may be "questionable".

FYI: k div applicamts are now being polygraphed by the RCMP. Is that right...funny, since at the July info session, it was almost laughed at by the recruiter when the topic came up. In addition to that, they would have to do all of Canada at the same time, not just one division. Otherwise they are just asking for pissy people that got deffered to give them grief.

Well everyone...I just wanted to inform you that I passed my Suitability and Security Interviews on the 21st of July. I am so happy right now! Now I just have to wait for the background investigation to start. Apparently my interviewer told me that they are getting the interviewers to do the field investigations now. He said that this will speed up the process because he does them immediately once he receives them instead of it sitting in a Member's briefcase for 5 months. Good news but I still anticipate my background investigation to last at least 3 months. BTW...if anyone is intersted...I have a web page detailing my journey to become a police officer. You can check it out by going to www.geocities.com/mountie2be/index.htmlLance

Yes I am in J Division. I really hope it doesn't take too long but I am prepared for a wait.
What part of New Brunswick are you from Guards? Do you have any idea when you might be going?
