Here is a question for anyone through the process. I am in E division and have passed all the hurdles except for the CSIS check which in E division is the last thing. Does anyone know for sure how long it takes? WEeks? Months?

CSIS check? I've never heard of such a thing... unless you are using a diff. term for something else... I'm in E Div. too.

Everyone goes through a final security check with CSIS in Ottawa. It is standard procedure.

Does anyone know for sure how long it takes? WEeks? Months? I didn't know of such a thing either.. and I've had a Enhanced Security clearance before. The only thing that CSIS has to do with it, is the information from your Security Clearance Form is also stored in the CSIS Personal Information Data Bank. I think all you're waiting for is your security clearance to be cleared from the security clearance people in E Division.

The latter must be it as I was already told that I have my security was cleared and that I've had everything done. I'm just in the waiting for the call stage. I would have thought E Div. recruiters would mention something else outstanding with regard to security.

The site is on fire Lots of new faces...well, good to see that rumors are being cleared up (i.e. 2 yr transfers, band, troops not getting jobs...) Just to add to the pass training, but no job.... When I was at depot there were 2 cadets in separate troops that got their certificate of completion but did not get hired by the rcmp. They were not found suitable near the end of training, but they did complete all the required tests etc to grad. The ones not found suitable in the earlier statges of training go home...no certificate. So everyone that is suitable throughout training WILL be Mountie. RyanSales...I think I was in training with you. Good to see you are enlightening the masses (you too Jamaf). Keep it up. Good to see some old posters (i.e. macguy9) in Depot. Love the job folks.... My words of wisdom ( ) are this: treat everyone you deal with as a cop with respect. They may be an arse hole to you, but by you being professional and respectful I think you can go home at night and feel you are that ideal Mountie you envisioned as an applicant. Now respect doesn't mean that a good bout of law enforcement can't happen (i.e. ALL the tickets and charges that the evidence allows you to give). I think sometimes as a cop it is all to easy to fall into the use verses the arseholes of the world and treat them how they treat us. Good luck! Cst. GOOSE

Medical info,
I was differed as an applicant 3 years ago based on my medical, I submitted some documentations to the medical officer. Does anyone know how long they would keep those documents I submitted for? I was only in the first stage, would they purge that information? I have recently re written and got a 4.45. Will I need to re submit those docs? Help me out someone.....

Goose, What troop? Where are you posted??? And excellent words about respect. I try hard to do exactly the same. Actually had a guy I arrested/charged for impaired driving come up to me in the mall 2 weeks after the arrest and shake my hand and thank me for how I had acted towards him through the process. Cheers, RY

GOOSE unplugged: What are the reasons that a cadet would pass all the training but not considered suitable to be employed? I'm curious, and it would be helpful to know to make sure I never do what ever these cadets did.

Attitude problem, not a team player, all this stuff adds up...it's all about you. If you are going to make it, you will. If you are not the right person, you won't.

Ok..RyanSales...I'm not much of a put my self on the internet type of guy..yet. I posted as "goose" back in Sep/Oct of 2003. So lets just say I was in troop 9 to 25 while you were in training. I am in beautiful BC ... ed2...if you know what I mean..yeah, not very specific, I know Guest: Why were the cadets removed....well, I don't have absolute answers for you, but I believe it was a lack of professionalism near the end of training for one cadet (I have some detail, but not enough to tell a story). The other cadet had some info from his security clearance come up at the end of training that wasn't meantioned during the interview. It had to do with not disclosing all credit related info. So my words of advice for this one to all applicants...let it all out, if this fellow did the rcmp would have just said clear it up then reapply. Now he can't ever apply because it looks like dishonesty due to not disclosing it...and it may or may not have been. Cst. GOOSE

Troops don't start up again until July 25th. Then there are 4 in August. I suppose everyone is sitting around waiting.
