I did pass my interview thanks for asking. It was pretty exciting and everything I expected it to be. They are going to let me know this week when I have my dental and medical. Things seem to be rolling pretty quick for me. How did you do on your interview?

Just a word on the RPAT....
The high three range is the lowest RPAT score in my troop...like 3.7 or so and up. The RPAT score is not a good indicator of who will be the best cop. I have seen people that have good RPAT scores have a negative attitude and I know they will not be the best cop out there. I have seen people with a 3.7 or so RPAT and they have a wonderful way of dealing with people, are positive, and are very competent with all the skills learned here at Depot. As for RPAT relating to academic performance...the 7 people in my troop that scored superior in the law, policy, and procedures exam had "around 4" on the RPAT. The RAPT measures a bit of common sense, but lots of common sense and knowledge of the law and policy is what will make you excell here and out in the field. So don't get too carried away if you have a really high RPAT score, your excellent command of the eniglish grammar and vocabulary will help with you files, but the actions you take in you investigations and dealings with people will make you that top cop.
good luck

Thanks for the info. It's real nice to be able to exchange points of view with others in the same situation i am in. I just got a letter yesterday saying that my fie is still in background and suitability. I just hope i get in before the 24 of July because my PARE runs out then!

Impy....I scored a 4.63 on my RPAT....and there was a guy in my troop who scored a 4.8.
As mentioned....the RPAT doesn't have a lot to do with how you will fare in depot or as a member....its simply a tool facilitate the selection process.
Congrats on the 4.5....that's a great score...and would have been in the top 5 of my troop.
Cheers, RY

Just thought I'd drop a quick note... I got my troop date, April 20th! I'll be part of Troop 2.
If you're still out there, waiting to get your date... hang in there! It takes time, but it WILL happen!

Just new to this process. Have only just sent in application to K Division, Still waiting to hear about RPAT. From what I have been hearing we do a LOT of waiting. It has only been two weeks and my mailman already hates me. Does anyone know how long it takes from application to RPAT?

Does anyone know if the Barrons Police Officer exam book is of any help to the RPAt? Do the marks from the practice exams any way reflect the RPAT exam?
