Last I heard they were starting AT LEAST one troop per month and I believe that there are usually 25-30 cadets per troop, so at a guess, maybe 300 cadets at any given time?? All speculation of course.... ;D

Used to be a new troop going in almost every week. With all the pending retirements etc, I'd think that would still be the case...or at least close to it.

6 Months so far!!! Holy s**t What division are you in? and how come your timeline is so different than the norm? Most people go RPAT, PARE, App Package, RMSI, Security, BGI, Psych, Dental, Medical, depot....Are you doing a lateral from another force or something? I've never heard of anyone doing the psych before the PARE was even done...

Maybe they have had lots of crazy people pass the interview so now they do it before.

OIC. Makes more sense now. 4.11 is a pretty good score on the RPAT...I think 4.0 - 4.3 is the average. I got a 4.07 myself.

4 - 4.3 is the average? What are you basing this on? My own observations of this group and other sites is that the average is likely below 4.
Either way 4.11 is one of the better scores I've seen here. My brother got 4.36 though and 3:18 Pare. :-)

He was investigated for cheating on the exam because his score was "too good".

I'll believe the average of a Cst. is above 4 but not the average of the test results of applicants. Most people writing the RPAT are scoring below 4 from what I've observed. I do know a guy that got in and is working RCMP and his RPAT was 3.75 IIRC.
Does anyone know if the RPAT or APCAT are looked at from a pass/fail standpoint or does a higher score help out?

As for the RPAT, right now I think it is a pass/fail because they need so many cadets.. but back when 10,000 would apply for 500 jobs I'm sure they took the applicants with the higher rpat, faster pare, etc.

if you want to know how you did compared to the average person writing the RPAT, you need to look at your componenet scores. To quote from the RCMP site:
--QUOTE "For the RPAT components, the scale chosen is one that has an average score of 2.50. This means if you obtained a component score of less than 2.50, you have demonstrated below average performance for that particular component. If your score is above 2.50, you have demonstrated an above average performance for that particular component." --UNQUOTE
I received a 5.20 on my RPAT (got bonus points for best circle filling with a No. 2 pencil).... ;D
I actually got a 4.50 on my RPAT, and the highest I have personally run across is somebody with 4.59 (it was on somebody's website somewhere...).
