Does anyone know if the Barrons Police Officer exam book is of any help to the RPAt? Do the marks from the practice exams any way reflect the RPAT exam? yes and no. If anything those books prepare you for the RPAt for time. Basically all those books are similiar. It is good to do the tests that is for sure, because your stress level will be way down once you take the exam. Any preparation helps. Of course anyone who took the RPAT can't tell you anything about it.

I recommend picking a page a day from a dictionary and reading it, do some logic puzzles, practice up on your basic mathematics, and do practice exams. Worked for me at any rate. RY

abrcmp2b, I bought the " Barrons Police Officer Exam book " and found it to be a great help since I'm a ol fella out of school for over 15 years how time flyes...... The book helped getting me used to sitting down writing a test for more then 2 hours. I think that overall it really helped me in passing the exam. Tim

Well, my wait is finally over, I am off to Depot on the 25th of May. This ends a 16 month test of patients. Is there anyone else that's scheduled for the same date on this board? I believe it will be Troop 6 or 7. For all those still waiting, hang in there is an end although you will be kept wondering all the way. The panic feeling is starting to set in now... ;D Cheers all!!

Just a note to those Depot-bound. The CO and S/M have again tightened things up and now obtaining marching orders (and thus ankle boots) is now part of the "Blues challenge". Until you pass this challenge, you'll be in fatigues, running shoes and made to double-time everywhere. Up until today you could obtain your boots at about week six or seven and stop doubling everywhere.

Yeah, I was in drill on Thursday when they broke the news... and I was looking forward to being able to march instead of double! I guess we'll just have to study our history and get our blues as quick as we can.... because I sure don't want to be doubling in August!

Congrats EMSAddict!
Doubling is no fun, but it definately improved my troops physical fitness! And having been in a troop that spanned three seasons, I can say that doubling in summer is still better than trying to double on glare ice!!!!
Cheers, RY

Anyone going to be in Troop 5 starting the 11th of May? I just got the call this week telling me of my start date. Went and signed my life away yesterday at RCMP's HQ in Vancouver and met 3 other guys that will be with me on the "long haul" for the next 6 months. Everyone seems cool to this point, and it looks like at least 1/5 of the troop will be great to get along with.
