Enough is enough here folks.
First off, guest, my friend, Bennett could be some DORK who probably is just trying to get a reaction and is no were near becoming a police officer, or at least that is what one hopes.
I believe we can, with reasonable certainty, believe that the polygraph is not 100% accurate. Having said that, assuming that just 1% of applicants will not pass, even though they told the truth, that leaves a fair number of people who are getting the shaft.
Furthermore, the selection process is bias to the favor of those who offer an opinion of you. The RCMP, for example, does not offer you the opportunity to explain your side of things. They take the word of the person giving the information, without giving you the opportunity to explain or justify yourself.
Poice forces are able to do this because they have an excess of applicants. People allow themselves to be abused, under the notion that there may be a 1000 other applicants just waiting to fill their spot.
The fact of the matter is you have rights. Should you have been taken out of selection for any reason, use the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act to obtain your file. Review the information, and you will be allowed the opportunity to correct errors.
For those current applicants who take the time to make immature and childish comments, I say examine yourself and think if you are really ready to become a police officer.
You say you have nothing to hide, so I challenge you, go into your interview and tell the truth. Put on your best suit, sell yourself, however, at the end, make sure you tell them you make immature comments on cops2be.proboards.com. Provide them with this URL, tell them your assumed user name. Otherwise, are you really honest? Or do you also have something to hide?
