Hey Hey all. I have a digital copy of Forbidden Places In DivX and MPG. Myself and another 'E' Division applicant are currently working on arranging a full time FTP server to handle the mass requests. More info will be posted in the following place groups.msn.com in the group called : RCMP Applicants It is a great place, for those of you who are not currently subscribed. There is alot of traffic there that will be benificial to any applicant. "A proof is a proof. What kind of a proof? It's a proof. A proof is a proof. And when you have a good proof, it's because it's proven." - Jean Cretin

I want to be 100% clear about this ...A cadet has to pay taxes on the education he/she receives at Depot?

No they don't have to pay on the education part, just on the room and board aspects...

Dragon... Hi there from a fellow East Coaster...I am from NS, New Glasgow area actually and I remember when we were posting on here together a while back...good to hear from you again. It has been a long time since I have posted here but read it daily and wish everyone in the process the best of luck and congrats to those who have made it through. I know what you mean with waiting for RPAT results, I am currently waiting for mine as well...wrote Jan.6th. They told us 4-6 weeks and we are pushing 8 weeks now so not sure what the hold up is...must be printing my airline tickets for Regina yeah, that's it. Glad to see you are in the Auxillary, that is great. I have tried for the past two years but they won't allow it because I am an applicant to the force, but I go on ride-a-longs often so I get some experience and my questions answered and some regular inspiration so not a big issue for me at this point. Anyhow, if there are any other East Coasters out there be sure to speak up... Take care everyone and keep your stick on the ice...

Journey to CPS The RCMP applicants group on MSN can be found at the following link rcmpapplicants@groups.msn.com... great forum for applicants and a little more control (no "guests" posting their bitter rantings"). Take care. Mountie2be

Dragon.. now this is second round for me...wrote Sept.11th.02 and scored 3.72 but did not get selected in fall or spring bloc, selection benchmark for NS last year was 4.1 minimum. So I wrote Jan.6th.04 and know I did better than before but not sure where I stand yet. As far as I know the benchmark for selection this year is a little lower but from what I read NS is the hardest province to get out of...from a RPAT score perspective anyhow. Fingers and all other apendages crossed...will wait and see. Best of luck to your wife too on her RPAT and be sure to post when she does hear word...I will be sure to do the same. Mountie2be

Back to Taxes.... good news. As a result of a legal challenge in Tax Court RCMP Cadets can now use the "Scholarship Exemption"... of $3000 - which just so happens to cover pretty much the entire value of the board and lodgings at depot. This along with claiming the monthly education amount for being in school full time will lead to a much nicer tax return.

Mr Mountie2be,
Don't be so hard to judge. You might look like the idiot in the long run. I can guarantee that we will be hearing your "bitter rantings" should you become DQ'd for some baseless reason.
If no bitter rantings are forthcoming then you got in (all the power to you), or you did not want this job as bad as us bitter guests.

ah, the infamous "guest"... guess I struck a nerve with the "bitter rantings" comment... but yet you felt compelled to be bitter once again and still in a faceless manner as a "no name". Save it. This is not the thread for that...this is for applicants to share info on the various stages of the process to help one another. As far as being DQ for a "baseless reason", no such thing...I am sure there was good reason you were deferred as you have made evident in your attitude here...cutos on the interviewers judgement call...Canada thanks you. I know you will not be mature enough to resist replying but I will not be wasting anymore time with you on this matter...not worth it, so you will not have a reply from me. To all others out there...stay positive...keep focused on the goal...and your stick on the ice Mountie2be

Hey Guest, I got my call!!! Just shows that if you aren't a person with something to hide you can make it in. If they DQ'd as many people as you seem to think they would have no one at Depot. Enjoy your life of yearning to be a cop because it will only be just a dream, punk.

Congrats on the call Bennett, but I would suggest that your last line of your comments makes you no better than guest. This fourm never stated that it was only for those that are blind with enthusiasm, and there is nothing wrong with those that are sharing the negative aspect of it. There are always two sides to every story.
Good luck at depot!!!
