Don't let Journey scare you about the cold Cab....they don't make you run outside if it's colder than -25.
Congrats to you and all the best at Depot!!

Does anyone have any pointers for me when I run the PARE tomorrow? I thought I read somewhere back a ways that sucking on a Halls before is a bit of a help for a sore throat afterwards??? Is this true, or is my mind playing tricks on me? Filling out the package is coming along well. I got my eyes checked last week, and they are fine. I got my fingerprints done yesterday, I run the PARE tomorrow, and I get my hearing checked next Monday. I have until Dec. 10 to hand it in, so that still gives me some time to double and triple check things before sending it in. Things have been a bit slow on here lately, what's happening with everyone else?

JamJam - definitely go with the Halls before and after. Helps quite a bit. I did my PARE Tuesday and quite a few people had the "PARE cough" after running the course.

Well, I ran the PARE today. I got a time of 3:29. I was the second quickest, next to some young buck who got 3:13!! He was movin'. The facilitator actually told him to slow down after the first lap. He was only 19 seconds on the first one. Afterwards, he said " Guess I should start working out, huh?" There were probably 20+ people running it. Two of the females failed, but I think with a little work, they could make it no problem. Oh yeah, and that blood taste in the throat was a nice treat for after the test, too

Bas, it seems that some provinces want your finger prints with the application package, others will take them later in the process (after security interview). I hope you weren't surprised over the fact that they take them from you.....all those B&E's and theft from auto's will come back to haunt you.

guest78,
I didn't get the forms for fingerprints and I thought they're missing. Not that I have anything to hide, the government probably already have my prints when I moved to Canada when I was 11.

Cab, congratulations. Good times ahead.
I just got word today that my BGI is starting. She told me best-case scenario was that I could be called to Depot in 8-12 weeks. She also said that it'd be perfectly ok to finish of the winter semester at school first and go in April. My un-refundable tuition is due by the middle of January so I'll se how it goes. If the BGI goes as fast as it can I'll probably take the early date.
I just had my teeth looked at last week for the first time in over five years. It was a relief to find out I have no dental problems. The dentist's brother is a Mountie (doesn't it seem like everybody you meet has a Mountie as a close relative these days?) so we had a good chat about what was ahead and how things have changed (and how they haven't... full mouth x-rays; she ran out of plates twice).

Well, they've started interviewing the people on my list! I got 4 calls in one day from friends, family and coworkers all saying that they'd been scheduled for interviews! They must really be moving on this! Butterflies in the stomach, I tell ya! I can smell that plane ticket to depot already!

good to see everybody is still moving along in the process. almost two weeks down here at depot and things are starting to pick up. the first week is fairly straight forward...mostly just explaining all the different ways they can send u home. this week we are all in uniform and have been issued our weapons...shooting on friday. i am no longer in denial as to how much work it will be to go through this and have now realized that it is going to be a challenge for the mind and body. hope to see u all here soon.
