RJB2003 I feel sorry for you that you neively think that if the polygrapher indicates they are deceptive they are beyond a reasonable doubt. Yeah, they shouldn't do any interviews either... because the interviewer has to form an opinion on the applicant. Those horrible people. I think if someone doesn't apply because they will have to take a poly, then they have something to hide. There are actually 1,500 people in calgary who passed the poly no problem.

Soon to 1501.... ;D and if you take the 50% number then logicaly there should be 1500 disgruntled CPS applicants out there...Now I know where one is... 'Smuggliness' is that even a real word? If it is I know a great triple word score next time I play scrabble!!! ;D You mean I have to look other places besides this one thread on this one board to find people who have failed a poly!! Aw crap. Nobody told me this was going to involve "work"

"Guest" - debating the validity of the Poly seems a little pointless. I tend to worry about things that I can control. If the poly is implemented by the RCMP, then that is their choice. As an applicant, I then have a choice to take it or not go any further in the process. Is the poly a good thing? I have absolutely no idea. I am sure that some good candidates will be wrongfully eliminated. Will it weed out a bad candidate that might have gotten through otherwise? Maybe. I'm positive that smarter people than myself are debating these types of issues in this particular decision process. The only thing that I know for certain is that if the poly is implemented, I will take it. I can think of better ways to kill a few hours, but I can't think of a better way to spend the rest of my career.

Got a thin envelope from the RCMP last Friday. Seeing a thin envelope does not give you a warm and fuzzy feeling when you are waiting for an application package..... Opened it up and they had sent me my test scores a second time. Go figure.
Isn't Oct/Nov when some applicants start receiving packages after the September cutoff? I remember reading this somewhere.

Ok...I'm gonna get all smuggly here.....so smuggle this smug-momatic. Aside from "agent X said this, and officer john doe said this" on Georges website, it is a good informative site. However, guest, please show me where the LAPD and the FBI state that they have a 50% failure rate with applicants....not George's re-writing of the info...I want it from the source...I bet you can't find it. However, with all the issues with LAPD...you might find it there, but I bet you can't. If you do find it...I will hail you as GOD in all further posts. Lets base our fact on the original source. I can quote members of this site for police related info if you like....will that make all my writing true? Your Truely, Smuggly P.S. J2CPS, smuggliness is not a word, but the root word 'smuggliotopia' is and can be used in scrabble.

Today, I ran my PARE for second time. As some of you will recall, the old one expired sometime in Feb. On a side note, some guy ran the Pare in less than 3 Min. I was impressed. Only thing that is left, is the clearance for my "Stall Psyc. Exam". If the Doctor thinks, I am sane..............I am cleared. My God, how will I explain to my wife if I am not considered fit by the Doctor? Maybe her standards are different! Jag

okay guys, so how many people have an official date of when they are going??
Or is there some of you here that were told mid something or other, or should be in "insert month here"
As for the PARE... as of tomorrow afternoon I should be signed off medically and won't be required to do my PARE again before I go to Regina.
Just wondering who will/should be there before Christmas.

peichick, I am medically cleared and "two internal checks" away from regina....so although I haven't been told anything, my file manager wasn't counting out November...or October for that matter, but the Oct dates must be filled or almost filled. Anyways....I'm hoping for a pre-Christmas trip to depot. However, in the summer I was sure that I would be in depot by the end of September It sounds like you are enjoying the tension as much as I am peichick. Don't be so sad Bas....a 3.77 has made the interview. And after that National Post article, I don't think a 4.00 and over policy is happening. And Jag.....Jag oh Jag....still getting dragged through the process.....if you havn't gone insane from the time you've been waiting...then there is no way you will not get medically cleared (from the tone of your posts, I would say your not insane yet)

I wouldn't worry, I scored a 3.61 and I'm in the 'last stage' now too. What province are you from? I think that has a major factor in what an 'acceptable' score is...

Hi guys, just wondering if anyone knows if your file is cleared in your province then sent to Regina for final review and consideration, of if the province where you are from decides if you are selected or not. I've heard others say their file was cleared in prov and then sent to Regina for final go ahead. Anyone with an answer? Thanks a lot.

RPAT scores... you really gotta realize that even when the cut off is 4.00 it is not like that is a PASS. It is just the only way to do it that is feasible, otherwise they would be dealing with wayyyy too many applicants for the amount of positions they are filling.
Just so happens that right now there are more positions to fill sooo more packages go out.... still gotta cut it off somewhere.
I have been with the RCMP for a long time and believe me... a high RPAT score does not gurantee the greatest police officer. As a matter of a fact I have seen it go more often the opposite... better at tests, math etc. = not so great at dealing with the public and tense situations.

folks,
Thank you for the encouragement. I guess that 2.5 hour drive to London took alot out of me and as a result I didn't feel I did my best on the RPAT.
I am from Ontario (O division) where things are not happening that quickly, I am not even sure what the cut off point is for asian males in Ontario.
On the bright side, I am very pleased to see that a few members of this forum are now in the last stage of the recruitment process, congraduations to all of you.
