macguy, when i got my medical package there was a form for each test. ie) dental, blood/pee, chest, ecg, psych, PARE retest. the front page had a chart that I had to fill in when and where each test was done. the labs will forward your results to hq and u forward the chart page to hq. u can get the ecg done at any hospital. medical div should have given u a list of shrinks in yer area...if not call them and they will. once all the tests are completed and back at hq, they will call u and give u the name of a dr in yer area to do the final medical. final medical is mostly questions and a basic physical....fear not, no prostate! atleast not for me. i have noticed that the BI takes much longer than the medical clearance here in bc, so no big rush i would say.

Thanks, BCRMPWannabe. I think the psych is being done by an in house psych guy at Ultima medical (the place that I'm doing my testing at). They're also doing my 'physical'. Luckily, I won't have to rerun my PARE (or so the recruiting gal said!) And thank God for the no prostate thing. Not that I would have to do it anyways, I'm only 30.

So macguy9, if you did your PARE on June 17......and recruiting states that you probably won't have to re-do it....then that would make a possible Depot time before Dec 18? Is that correct? That is quite a zippidydo timeline if it works out. I can't remember, have they started calling your references yet? Yeah, no finger test for me either...can't wait till I'm 45 or so for that extra treatment Good luck Goose....she's gonna be a cold one! BCwanabe...why are you and I still in BC and not a Depot yet?

Goose: Right on buddy, right on!
Hi Jag: When K sent you the PARE letter, were you given a date/time/location (ie they schedule you) or were you left to pick your own date and time?

YYC, The letter basically said that I had to get my PARE done and that my previous one had expired on XX Date. Enclosed with the letter was a list of PARE facilities and their telephone numbers. Along with the package was the Medical Clearance for Pare (which your Doctor had to fill out again). Yes, then you are on your own to book and pay for the PARE. According to the RCMP website, it appears that I would be reimbursed for the second successful PARE. I hope that helps! Jag

Thanks, Jag, for the info. It helps alot. For me, things went rolling fast, then boom, stopped. All of my BGI that I know of was completed, even rushed due to a diary date, then it stopped in my home town in BC. So I called and was told "no news is good news call is in 90 days" Anyway, I am hoping for January as the wife and I just booked a vacation trip for Dec. as I am certain we wont see each other for a long time if I do get in.
Take care, YYC

Well, here I am complaining that my BGI just stopped, well, turns out about four hours after this post, the remainder, which I am aware of, was completed. Turns out it was on the Constables desk since the beginning of august, she just called K and said "it is a really busy summer here (fires and all) it will have to wait until the fall...."

I went to an RCMP orientation session at UVic on Wednesday for the hell of it. Not much new. They said they thought the poly would start last May but it still hasn't started and they couldn't say whether the group at the orientation would be doing it or not. They said that 'E'Div sends 9 guys to every troop and gets 12 guys back so BC people are guaranteed to go back to BC. They also mentioned that slowly but surely they are getting processing times down. Apparently they think their average time is 12 months now instead of 15-18. I don't know if he was averaging all groups or just white males. They had corporal spelled wrong ("corpoal") on the first powerpoint slide And at the end there was a slick 10minute Depot video.

I received an email from one of my summer student facilitators from Edmonton Recruiting. She said she just processed someone in 6 months. Mind you that person, like me, had an RCMP Enhanced Reliability Clearance previous to that. So they had already passed the medical, security interview, background portion so it was cake the 2nd time around. But I have heard of a lot of applicants without the E.R.C going through in under 1 year.

The process is all over the board. In my troop there were people that only took 6 months from start to finish. (all of which were from the east coast) The average was about 18 months. Some guys were even up over three years. They had not made the RPAT cut on the first go around. I know the wait seems like its forever but its wierd how fast everything goes once you get through it all. Good luck to everyone in the process. And they were asking me about the poly and if I would take it back in June 2002.

Jamaf....what do you mean "asked if I would take it" in reference to the poly? Did you take it? Were they just asking your feelings on it? What stage were you at in June 2002...was that during your interviews?

At the end of my security interview (july/02) , the interviewer mentioned that they might soon be implementing the poly and would I be opposed to taking it. My answer was no, but I didn't end up having to take it.
