Goose - the last little bit of the process was nice, must be because there is only a few dozen to choose from!! One of the reasons it was so quick is because certain sections(members) of the recruitment process were retiring and they were trying to pump through as many applicants as they good through those particular sections...and those stresses you listed.. hmm they sound familiar, I try not to think about it but I am only human! BCRCMPwannabe - woohoo on the clearance, did your recruiter offer you the diary date or did you have to ask? because I would love to know mine, but have a fear of annoyance. macguy - they do the same in "L" division as well, the last three stages seem to blend together. Storm - every time you stop by your posts are always uplifting and give us(well me anyways) a "it will all be worth it" Jag - ;D that is wonderful, good thing you stopped by that display, a guy I know went through the "stall test" as well.. nothing big. YC - refresh me as to where you are in the process Cab - If you were talking about my timeline, my background check went a little quicker because I am an Auxiliary Officer, so I already had 5 years done, and most of my references were either old bosses/landlords or professors from college. So my BI member had it easy I also provided phone numbers of all my old bosses and landlords, which probably helped him out as well!.. Fear not, I am sure it wasn't anything to do with you if you found yours moving a little slower. Also if you lived in another province that would slow things down as well. Okay I have rambled enough!! ;D

Hey Gang... Been a long time...I have been so busy I have not even had a chance to post. Welcome to those who have hopped on board in the last month or so and welcome to peichick...a fellow east coaster...yes that's right, I am the other east coaster who has not posted in a while. I am in Nova Scotia, having a lovely time waiting in this process. To update everyone...I am sitting and sitting waiting for the opportunity to rewrite my RPAT this fall after not being selected this spring. I have to wait for an info session to be scheduled first and it just is not happening here so far...hopefully soon. While waiting I have been out for a couple of ride-a-longs, some very exciting and had a great ride-a-long this past weekend. Until the process begins again I am continuing these excursions to keep motivated and remind myself that this is all worth it as so many have posted.
Not much else to post at this time...so until next time... "keep your stick on the ice"

I called yesterday...my file is still at recruiting headquarters, waiting for a member to begin the investigation
I'm thinking that starting in march or april wont be so bad (except for july parades in full dress) ;D

Alright.. I guess I will throw my hat into the ring. I have officially entered the RCMP process by writing the RPAT in October. As some may know I spent my summer as a S/Cst with the RCMP 'K' Div summer student program. Which was an awesome experience. I received a week of training at Depot.. the place is better than you can ever imagine. I guess if you are into that kind of stuff. I did enjoy the structure very much.. and I chatted with a fair number of Cadets... just to get their background story. The only thing that stresses me out in the process if the long time it takes to go through it. The good thing with me is I have a RCMP HRMIS # so they already know a lot about me from my Enhanced Reliability Clearance. Also I have a contact in 'K' Div recruiting that was a facilitator for the SS program. I emailed her this past weekend about the timelines for the process. She told me she recently processed an applicant in 6 months from RPAT to Offer but she also says it can be up to 18 months... it's all dependant on your background and medical. My cousin is currently in week 4 at Depot.. he wrote the RPAT Feb/02... but he had to get Laser Eye Surgery and had to sit and wait for the clearance after it.
So to start off here is my beginning timeline
Oct/2003 - RPAT
Here's hoping for a pre-2005 start date!

I have made a MSN Group for RCMP Applicants... I don't want to take anything away from this site but here we can post pictures and talk about a variety of items relating to the RCMP and it's Application Process. It is semi-private meaning to post you have to be approved by myself. This way we can keep the downers out. I encourage all applicants to check it out. groups.msn.com/RCMPApplicants/Thanks

Hi every one it has been about 7 weeks since I last posted. Glad to see that everone's application is progressing along. I am going in to week 6 at depot, it has been great and it is true what they say, "the days are long and the weeks are short". Jag, MacGuy, BCwannabe and any one else for that matter what we have heard here is that there will be cadet troops every week except christmas right up till March 2004. Next week we become a big brother troop to troop 18 Looking forward bumping to a few of u here. All the best Jas

yyt...
Holly smokes....was that last post in english? I think a debate on the effectiveness of the RPAT might be needed if you are at the medical portion already!
Ok....enough of the funny guy stuff. The final medical is somewhat intensive. A bunch of tests: ecg, chest x-ray, blood, urine, dental (with loads of teeth x-rays), then a final run over by a doctor. The PARE: You can probably re-run it the next time it is held....if you fail.....shin pain (or "shines problem" as it is medically referred as) are usually due to over running (not enough rest between run days, or too long or intense runs) or running on hard surfaces with bad shoes. Take it easy on the running...or get a running book to guide you along.
As for there being no group (or troop as others might say it) in November because YOUR medical is in October......what's going on. Are they cancelling troops for November because you haven't done your medical yet.....we were all depending on you to have your medical done so they would send some troops in Nov. Oh well.
Stirred please, with a twist of lemon.
