I just received my RPAT marks. 4.03. I'm pretty happy with it, and I am hoping that it won't be too long before I receive my package. How long has it taken some of you to get your package after you got your RPAT marks? I know that it has been said that if you thought the waiting for RPAT scores took a long time, then just wait for the rest of the process. Are there pieces of information that I should be gathering up right now that would make things easier for me when the package does arrive?? ;D ;D

YC, I used the Barron's Police Officer Exam book. After going through the first test, I picked through the questions that I thought would be of use to me for studying. If you compare the RPAT practice exam on the RCMP website and the Barron's exams, you can tell which questions are of use to practice and which questions should be passed over. Also, Barron's has some good studying techniques. Read them over and try to use them when you are answering some of the other questions. It seemed to work for me, so it doesn't hurt to give it a shot. Good luck!!!

Jamjam, It took about 7 weeks to get my results back...I wrote in Aug 2002, in E Div as well.
My advice for you would be to get the addresses, names of every employer (work site), house you lived in, schooling you did, times you were unemployed. You need this to be exact to the month (exact day of that month is not important).
Make sure you can verify the above as well. If a company you worked for shut down 8 years ago, and you have no contact for them, call Revenue Canada and request your T4's for that year(s). They are free, but take at least 8 weeks to come. If you think your landlord or neighbours from 7 years ago won't remember you, find the address of your roommate that will. The key is to make sure you can verify everything.
It will speed up the slow process when you get to the various stages months and months from now. I write all this speaking from experience with my process...nothing like thinking the ball is in there court and they call you back asking for more info....which translates into 'file sitting on desk until further notice'
Hope that helps...and good luck

Thanks, Cab. It looks like I have some work ahead of me. Just trying to think about my previous employers and landlords is giving me a headache. It is plain to see that I have some homework ahead of me here. I guess it is better to get a start on it now, rather than rushing all at once. How much time do they give you to fill out your package? I have heard some say two weeks, others say two months.

I only had 4 weeks, and that was really rushed. Be very persistent when you're calling your sources for information, it's the only way to ensure you'll get all the info you need in time.

But if you miss some info that's not a big deal. You can add to your file later. One of my references was out of the country for several weeks so I had to send in my package with a notation saying I'd forward his details later. I also put in similar notations for a friend who is in Japan but returning soon and a friend who was soon to leave for law school.

Macguy9, Thanks for the info. Wow, 4 weeks and you were still rushed!! I guess there is more to the package than I thought. Coltray, I wrote the RPAT on June 25. I only wish I had received my marks in a couple of weeks. I was told my my recruiting officer at the information session that you can expect it to take 3 months. I was told that there is one person that enters the sheets into the marking machine, for all of Canada. This only happens for one hour on Fridays. I don't know if this is true or not, but it really shouldn't take that long for the marks to come out otherwise. I think that there was between 20 and 30 applicants writing when I wrote the RPAT, and thanks for the compliment on my mark... I worked hard for it.

Does anyone know if they swimming pool has been re-opened at Depot ? I had heard that it was shutdown awhile back either for repairs or safety concerns. Also, what level of swimming skills is expected at Depot these days ?

No swimming at depot... and there are no plans to fix the pool anytime in the near or far future as of yet.
