See...I don't have my certificate to say I'm not crazy....so maybe I am. Like some one mentioned before about believing everything people say on this forum.....it's not all facts (i.e. my facts may just be wrong) So, back to the security clearance thing....I'll have to inquire more about security levels and exactly what each entails....Jag and Observer....now that you mention it I thing the RCMP is Top Secret. I'm all confused now.

Goose,
You know, it would be nice if there was someone from recruiting on the forum. To clear up some of the mis-information.
Too bad they don't have a Q & A section on the RCMP Recruiting website.
Having said that, I believe this forum is the best thing we have going. At least it helps with the long wait and keeps you positive. Jag

BCRCMP,
That is great news!
Scary part is that some of us will be spending our winter in Regina!
Just the thought of it makes me cold! Jag ;D

Regina in the winter doesn't sound that bad....come on we're Canadains.....we love winter (except the Vancouver applicants) I think I would rather stand/march in wool red serge in the winter, opposed to a dry 34c type of day....I can just feel myself passing out. They also say that the pepper spray recovery is facilitated better in the winter cold.

From what I unserstand, there is no taser training at depot, BUT some detachments do carry tasers and Cst can take a course for the taser training... I could be wrong on that, but I think I remember someone (member) talking about it...Storm maybe???

Traser training is not taught at Depot. Not all detachments have tasers, so it is more practical to train members on the tasers at their respective detachments.

It was me that mentioned tasers before. Your detachment will train you. I will bet it will be at depot soon though, it is supposed to be going into the incident intervention model ( what you use to decide level of force).
Regina cold?? DAMN RIGHT! I am an east coaster and I had nothing but pity for the poor boys and girls from the lower mainland. The upside is when it dips below -25 (yes MINUS TWENTY FIVE) you are NOT required to run out doors. Ain't that nice boys and girls? I ran one day and the soels of my running shoes froze solid! If you are going to Depot over the winter months buy long underwear and some wind resistant underwear for running. Trust me on the last one. It gets cold in NF but not -35 to -50 with wind chill. BRRRRRR I get cold just thinking about it.
