i found it difficult to do much prep at any point for the RPAT. I would reccommend sleep if anything. You can't do anything of major significance at this point.
Just remember, don't get frustrated or caught up on a single question or section....especially the vocab!
good luck!

Amen to the vocab section!! Was that a word...or a sneeze? ;D
Best advice for you Bas, go see a movie. Play some ball. Anything except think about the RPAT. As long as you try your hardest nobody can fault you. I'd say good luck, but you don't need luck if your good! ;D

Just remember that "fhurgurbenernesiten" is spelled with an "en" at the end instead of "ein". Its a common error that they may try to trip you up with. ;D

I got a question for you MPOV. People are always ranting and screaming at government and the way they do things. Now, knowing what you know of the rcmp's hiring procedure and the faults you perceive in it, how whould you run it. Being realistic and coming up with practical solutions...how would you make it "right"?
Also, MPOV, you stated that the system is corrupt and that police are above the law and that they protect their own. Would you still have applied knowing what you know now?
Ok...done with you. Now it is J2CPS (formerly known as Prince...I mean J2D). You say you have yet to meet a rcmp of muni officer that has charged a cop with DUI. Do you know a LOT of cops...and is that not a good thing that they have not had the opportunity to charge them? Now I'm not saying it doesn't happen, but if you recall the security interview, the rcmp is quite hard on this issue. Would you fall prey to not charging a cop for impaired driving for fear you might not be part of the group or some other perceived fear?
Now someone will reply back (Longshot maybe) that no one will charge a fellow cop when they get in for Impaired driving. I wouldn't sacrifice my intergity for the "above the law" nonsense. In one of my interview questions I gave an example of doing just this (filling a report against a co-worker...in a tight knit group, that resulted in criminal charges), and stated my feelings in relation to the rcmp. I passed the interview...so, it looks like the rcmp IS looking for integrity. We work our a**es off trying to be the best we can be to get into policing....it is only right that we would toss the bad apples out when we see them.

My god the RPAT is the devil!! It drained the life right out of me. And jesuschrist the vocab section is out of this world, I hope they're mostly experimentation questions.

Bas, welcome to the world of waiting. from this point on u will be doing a lot of it. waiting for scores waiting for package waiting for interviews waiting for medical package waiting for BI waiting for sign off waiting for the call. not to mention the many personal hick-ups that each individual recruit will experience. whats worse is that the waiting becomes much worse and more frustrating the further u get...but i think it will be worth it.

Hi guys. I was trying to memorize the 10 codes, and thought 'there has to be a better way to do this than through flashcards and memorization.' Well, I couldn't find one on the internet, so I sat down at the computer and made one. ;D If you want to test your knowledge of the RCMP 10 codes, check out www3.telus.net/MacGuy/rcmpquest/10codequiz.html and see how you do. Just keep in mind this isn't an exhaustive list, just most of them. I didn't have all night to sit down and type these in.

macguy...you either have too much time on your hands or you are a wiz at the computers. Thanks, it is a good practice exercise. For those in the beginning of the app process, you might not be aware that after you pass you suitability interview, you have a homework assignment. Usually at the interview they give you a password and instructions on how to access an online course. The course has two parts, one is a read of an article "Policing in 2000". It is a farily lengthy document on trends in policing and challenges for the future. The second part is a list of ten codes. So there is an online test for both, and you have a month to complete the test from the date that you accessed the information. It is not too hard....you just have to read and understand the article and memorize the 10 codes. Some pre-training for Depot Bas....pop quiz....what is the definition of 'zonda'. You might not be rcmp material if you have to use a dictonary I agree with the vocab...I felt like grade 12 english didn't help me out there!
