Ya, I am sure you are the type of person they are looking for to respond to a domestic violence or rape call!! No post lately on your application progress with the Chattanooga Police Department?? Its been over a month? Still waiting I assume.

Ok man, here's the deal. You are not cool. No one here thinks you are cool. You posting stuff that is on my website, I guess to make people here think that I am not "worthy" to be a police officer just shows how much of an absolute immature person you are. It also shows how jealous you are because I am still in the running and you aren't. If you think that me posting that joke on my website makes me any less of a candidate for a job as a police officer than anyone else just shows how idiotic person you are. A police officer actually told me that joke.

I haven't heard from them in a month because they are in the process of doing my background check. As anyone knows, this step in the process is not the speediest. Also, there have been budged cuts in Tennessee, and the next academy has been delayed until august or september, thus they aren't in any "hurry" to call me back. Nor am I in any hurry to get a call back. I know many many people in the Police department, some in the recruiting division, and I know for a fact that I am being seriously considered for a job. So why don't you take your holier than thou attitude somewhere else, because no one here (especially me) cares to hear it. Grow up.

I am scheduled to take a polygraph test next week. How did you prepare to take the test? and what advice would you have for me in preparing for this test?

Really, just be honest. I had that same question as you may know from reading this ridiculously long thread, but just be honest during the questioning. I had filled out a questionnaire prior to taking the polygraph that the conductor went over with me, and they just questioned my honesty on that. The questions on that questionnaire went over every possibly aspect of my life that I would have any reason to lie about; from financial history, to education history, to employment history, to theft and drug use. And as others have said, just answer what they ask you. Don't try and add anything; I doubt they care. They want to see you pass as much as you want to pass (quite contrary from what other people on this board will tell you). Its definitely an experience you get to "brag" about to your friends -- being strapped up to a lie detector, but its not as intimidating once you are strapped up. Enjoy is, tell the truth, and it will all be over. DON?T LIE!!

I know it's been a long time since anybody posted anything here. In retrospect, I am either:

1.) Amazed that mays passed the English language portion of the written exam; or

2.) Amazed that his department doesn't have an English language portion of the written exam.

He actually might make a good LEO, since it's the responsibility of the court, not the officer to decide a suspect's guilt. He has no ability to accept another person's opinion as anything other than "crap" if they disagree with him. "You're guilty." "No, I'm not." "That's crap, you're immature, and a moron."

Though, yes, this was a humorous post to read. Especially when he referred to others as immature. Also, the idea that he couldn't accept that somebody out there may agree with the anti-poly guy, no that's impossible.. it has to be the anti-poly guy posting as a guest.

Definitely not the choice for LEO, the guy also sounds to me like he has a big authority issue. This is HIS post, and you better not post anything except what HE wants and/or approves of. "Please give me advice, BUT NOT THIS, THIS OR THIS, only THIS." If you already know what you want to hear, why ask?

I am still dying to hear how old Jmays did on his poly. If he failed like I am sure he did, he won't post his failure anyways. I can always keep checking his bob web page. No posts there and I can truely assume he failed. Should have listened to old George hey JMays!

I passed the poly. I already posted that a long time ago. The academy has been delayed. No futher processing is being done, for ANYONE. So I'm just waiting... Get a life.
