RCMPhereicome,
Guess you will hired by WVPD long before RCMP offer you a position. It's your call to go with one of them.Wish you all the best!
Why didn't you apply VPD?Just wondering...

If I DO end up getting hired by WVPD WAY, WAY before RCMP, The decision wouldn't bee too difficult; however, if RCMP gets closer and looks promising, I might just risk it and hold out. As Far as VPD goes, its all kinda funny since they are the first ones that I attended the info session for and I actually have the application form completely filled out and sitting on the table for a few months now. I just don't really see myself working for VPD. I can't quite put my finger on it, but there is something about VPD that Im not too fond of. The level of pride, tradition, honour, history, room for advancement, flexability, etc etc you see in the RCMP is unmatched by any other organization in the world...in my openion... The only reason WVPD is being considered is location, familiarity, and a few other minor things. Otherwise, choosing WVPD over RCMP would be a VERY difficult choice that I may end up regreting...

I can understand that.Making a choice in between is definitely a hard thing because two of them were different anyway.
Hope you do well!

Hi PEIchick:
Yes, your file does have to go to Regina for final approval. They are the ones that have the final say. So, file completed by recruiter in PEI, approved by him/her, sent to NCO of recruiting for approval, if approved there, sent to Regina for final approval. If approved there, sent back to PEI and then you get the call.
This is how it was explained to me. But dont worry, they say that it is so checked over by the time it gets to Regina that it is more or less a rubber stamp. But then again, they may come back with more questions for your background and stuff. Hang in there! I know it is tough. I'm still waiting for my medical to be cleared and my background to start. It has been 13 months since RPAT for me.
Take Care, YYC (Calgary)
