They offered me March 13 (Troop 34) but I just got my call late last week. That would have given me 10 days to get my sh*t together and go... I still have to meet with my realestate agent and setle a few things, not to mention train my replacement at work. They were very understanding and said they really didn't expect me to take that spot. I leave on April 10th (my birthday!!!What a gift!!) and am in Troop #2 (they start the troop numbers over in April). I'll be a month behind you, but maybe I'll see you in The Stand!

Everyone is different when it comes to timelines. I've seen as quick as 6 months, to some that were over 24. Unfortunately once the inteviews are done, you timeline is entirely dependant on your BGI, which has way too many different factors to even speculate on how long it will take...best to shoot for the 6 month average for a BGI.

My C Div timeline is as follows: Nov 22 - Info Session Feb 07 - RPAT + conscientiousness test Mar 31 - Results (4.60 RPAT, 68.50 Cons, 340.05 Combined) I am quite glad of the results; although, I am unsure about the conscientiousness test since not many post their results so far... 4 yrs ago I failed the interview. Sadly, the interviewer said that I lacked some leadership experience. I hope this time around it is going to turn out better.... In the past, I did 4.42 and 3.77 on the RPAT; therefore, I'm quite happy about the 4.60 I wrote a small essay about my experience. You guys can view it at www.geocities.com/ontpolBest of Luck, hoping it is not going to discourage too many of you. You got courage to start a process that difficult and stupid at times.

Congratulations Journey2depot...it shouldn't be too long now. In my experience however, I find that the background investigation doesn't truly start until your medical is cleared by medical services. At least this was the case with by brother's application and my own. Hopefully it will be much faster for you. My file has presently been sent to Halifax for final approval. However it has been sitting there for 7 weeks now. You definately have to be a very patient to go through this process. I wrote the RPAT in November of 2003 Anyways...if anyone is interested in checking out my web page detailing my journey. You can check it out at www.geocities.com/mountie2be/index.htmlLance

I notice in my reading of all these entries, that the few who were deferred during the interview were because of 'leadership skills', and the 'lack there of' in the interviews opinion. I am wondering if anyone could comment of this. Thanks.

"K" is much faster than the other divisions when it comes to the BGI etc. My employers where calling me to say they had been contacted, before I even had my medical exam. I think my BGI and "official" med clearance shoudl be at the same time.

I hear ya! I understand that each division is different, but look at pdiggs, I am sure he isn't complaining, he got his package and wrote the RPAT on the same day??? Good for him but what the heck? Seems strange....what can you do though?....I've completed everything but the background and hopefully that will begine soon, I am hoping to leave and get to depot, I'm ready to go!!! I would guess that pdiggs is in "D". "D" recruiting assumes everyone will pass the RPAB, so they just hand out packages at the same time as the exam...however "D" is also notoriously slow when it comes to post interview.
