Thnx guys, glad my posts are enjoyed. I know how hard it is to sit and wait and wait and wait. But, good things come to those who wait! The biggest thing I found when I was in the porcess of getting from there to here was the motivation to stay in the game. It can be discouraging at times when you see your goal and it seems so far far away. For me that point of looking at my goal seems a long ways behind me.
Obstacles are what you see when you take your eyes off of your goal. The big thing they teach you at Depot is survival mentality. I am sure you have heard that more than once on here. A Mountie never gives up. It is ingrained into you at Depot. Adopt that attitude now in the waiting process.
I am off now for a few days, but I look forward to going back to work. How many poeple can say that about there job?
Stay sharp, hang in there and stay focused.
Storm

Hi everyone... I am so glad I decided to join this forum...very motivating. I too enjoy reading Storm's posts...nice to see someone who has made it through.. taking the time to share with those who are in this process. Anytime I have the opportunity to speak with a member, especially a new member I love to ask lots of questions, what it was like at depot, what was the motivating factor that made you decide to join in the first place, etc...and now we have this forum for all to share this exact info. Awesome. I really enjoy the websites some of you have created, Journey2Depot...etc...very nice idea and also a good motivator...helps to see that we are not alone in each of these steps. Good luck to all. Have a good day. Mountie2be

Hey Mountie2be,
It is good to see new people join here and share there experiences in the process. it is motivating for those trying to see the progress of other. I like the nickname you chose, very goal oriented and positive. Ask all the questions you can, because no matter what you ask there is always something else you can think of.
It is always good to see more people trying to make it to their dream.
Storm
Hang tuff, stay focused and remember that survival mentality!

Hi There, I am currently in the process with the RCMP and was lucky enough to run across this forum. Even though I have been told time and time again what to expect it is nice to hear from other hopeful cadets and successful members. I live on Vancouver Island in BC and I am at the end of the recruiting process (time to hurry up and wait...lol). My Time Line: - Info Session May 15, 2002 - RPAT June 8, 2002 - Application Package - Oct 29, 2002 - Pare - November 8, 2002 - Security Interview - March 31, 2003 - Regular Member Interview - April 9, 2003 - Medical Package - May 22, 2003 (completed) - Background started - June 1, 2003 - Final Pare (requested by staffing) - June 3, 2003 at this point I am just waiting on a date for my final physical and for my background to be completed Looking forward to meeting some of you at Depot!

Hi Jas, welcome to the board. We are at approx. the same stage. I completed both interveiws on Apr.16 and currently in the Background stage. I'm still awaiting my medical package(my recruiter said to expect it anytime...but you know what that means in RCMP terms). Was your medical done by your doctor or a RCMP doctor? Have any of your references been contacted? Good luck and happy waiting!

Thanks therecruit1, After completing my medical package (blood and x-ray at hospital, psychological exam with local psychologist, dental examination and forms completed by my regular dentist) it is reviewed by RCMP Health Services and then if all is okay I will be given the name of a local RCMP Doctor I can see for the final physical. Was told to expect to hear from them early next week. No references contacted yet... but I hope to start hearing from them next week Sounds like your application is moving along quickly - have any of your refereces been contacted?

Jas Buddy,
I hope that things are faster in "E Div." than "K"
I was at the same point that you are right now July2002, and I am still waiting for the big call to Regina. Did they contact you to do the pare you just completed?
The force medical was a tramatic/humbling experience that will certainly haunt me until my next encounter with the little man with the enormous finger.
Good luck my friend.

Hi everyone, I recieved my application package a couple of weeks ago and I'm scheduled to run the PARE in a couple of weeks. However, my concern is over my previous "tickets" that I have recieved in the past. Does anyone know what the maximum # is? (if there is such a thing?). I checked my driving record with ICBC, which is clean ;D...however prior to the last five years, I had a couple of photo radar tickets and 1 speeding ticket....and of course 2 stupid tickets back in 94.

Big question is how has your driving been since you applied? Are the speeding tickets for excessive or in a particular speeding section? You know, school zone, construction zone or so on. Be honest and tell them everything. Don't sit there and say how dumb it was and you didnt deserve the ticket. YOu will get more points for honesty than trying to defend how you should not have gotten a ticket.
Important thing to remeber, from here on in keep your driving spotless. Nothing, nada, zip. Show that you are serious about upholding the law, even the traffic ones.
Storm
ps
what part of E Div you in?

Rebel, I wouldn't be too concerned about past infractions, as long as it was nothing major like a DUI or something stupid. My driving past from 16-22 is VERY....impressive... biggest thing however was an undue care and attention, aka racing, when I was 17. As for a maximum number? I don't know if there is one, since I had around 15 infractions on my list...had to use a second sheet ... I was also concerned about it when I filled out my package so i called the recruiter. He said not a problem, since I have been clean for the last 4 years, and others must agree since I'm getting my interview sometime this month. On the interview topic, I was lucky enough to find out that a Cst I volunteer with, is also on the interview board for CPS, and he is going to do a practice interview with me next week to prepare. It's always nice to feel stress leaving your body.... ;D

CONGRATS!!!! I remember the day I got my call for the interview. Just remember to stay relaxed and be yourself. Besides there is plenty of info on this thread and on the web on the best approaches to the interview.
GOOD luck, look forward to hearing how it all goes.
