Well folks, I am done. I finished officially today. I pledged my oath and accpeted my badge as a member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. Al you guys that are here now, from this board, keep pushing, when it gets tough remember why you are here, go to a Passout (there is on a week) to help keep focus, because if you want it you can have it. My troop played that Eminem song every Friday morning, Lose Yourself, we put the opening lyrics on our shirt,
Look, if you had one shot, one opportunity To seize everything you ever wanted-In One moment Would you capture it or just let it slip?
That verse speaks volumes about those of us striving to get through here and get here.
Keep working hard and keep in touch, I expect to see post on here saying we passed this and that and we are just got our badge.
Those who are still trying, KEEP TRYING! Don't stop, if you really want to be a Mountie, keep going and you will get to hear them call your name forward to receive your badge.

this is my last message on this board. I was the one that felt he was screwed for acceptance into the RCMP based on a falsified poly from CPS.
I just wanted to congradulate Storm and the others who made it. You have realized a dream that only a very few people will ever get to do. I wish you guys all the best. I can only imagine how you felt getting that badge and leaving depot as a constable after 22 grueling months. I must admit I am extremely jealous! Be safe and make us proud! You are now a member of the most elite police force in the world!

Hiya all. I have been out of Depo for awile now. I can tell you one thing. Depot is nothing like the real thing. It is great basic training but you really dont start to learn anything until you are out doing it. Depot is a game and if you play it right you will win. Good luck to all those applying and congrats to all newly engaged. Depot isnt easy but success is very attainable.

Hi all, Congrats Storm ... I'm proud of you! Well guys, I have 2 weeks left. Next week I do all my finals and then hopefully I'll be receiving my badge on April 7th. Keep your spirits high guys. One thing I've learned with the RCMP training is that you have to stay focused on your goals and take things one step at a time. Good luck Ace13 p.s. it's nice to see that this board is a benefit and hopefully, it is a motivator! ;D

Hey DK!
Good luck on the RPAT, and remember, it's a long process. Look at this thread and the RPAT thread for some personal experiences, as it will help you in the application process

Congrats Ace,
Well, since you are done all of your exams, I guess it's time to relax and prepare for the rest of your life as an RCMP officer!
Do you guys really have a week off until your graduation ceremony? And how long do you have to report to your detachment after graduation (i.e. when are you actually going to start as an officer on patrol?)

Congratulations Ace!!! Well done. I think I speak on behalf of pretty much everyone who has participated in this discussion group when I say Thanks for starting it. It has been great for me as the wife of a recruit to read about everyone's different experiences and see how everyone has encouraged eachother not to quit in their quest to become a member of the RCMP. Best of luck to you as you continue on in your career!!

Ace, Welcome to BC..I'm sure you will feel right at home with all the rain..LOL congrastulations... on another note, I received a call for my secruity interview for next week. Time seems to fly by, it feels like yesterday that I wrote the rpat. That was in June 2002. So I can hardly wait. Since then I have graduated out of the reserve program with Saanich Police. I am now a special reserve constable in the province of BC. So, thats where I stand as of now....hopefully things will progress from here.. Chat later G Becoming a cop isn't something that happens over night. It takes a good solid weekend of training to get that badge....LOL

Hey folks, WOW it took a few minutes to catch up. I just find out today that my hotel has abusiness center with hi speed internet (that you can buy a block of time for an inflated price, so I bought some!). WOw so much has happened. I started work last week and had a great time. Lots of stuff to do armed robbery, hit and run, MVA with pedistrian, b&e's it si all I expected and more. I have an awesome trainer and a great watch. They are all helping me out getting squared away learning.
So, how are all the Depot guys doing? Big congrats to my girl ACE13, I miss her terribly but she has come through like i knew she would. Jamaf, Marco, Sheldon and Marcus, how about an update on your status. I know you guys got to be doing well. I am still under the same name on ROSS so drop me a line and say hi.
How is everyone on this board doing in the process? I see a lot are still in the hurry up and wait phase.
Folks, to quote one of the corperals in APS at Depot "this is the best (he uses an expletive here) job in the world." he is so right. I no longer work for a living, because I have career I love to go to. I get up tomorrow morning to go to work at 0700, I go in early because I love to be there and get out on the road.
All the best folks, keep things updated. Hang in al you cops in waiting. Your turn is coming, always remember if this is really your dream, you cannot give up, very few ppl get to live their dream
