I am done everything I can do and they are pretty much done everything so it's just a little end of the road communication before I head off. Basically , they are just giving me the heads up and asking if I have any last minute questions before going to Depot. I'm in BC.

Excellent, any idea on when you are going?? It didn't take long for your background check and final medical/dental, did it?

For the background check, did they contact every employer? Every reference? Every neighbour for addresses?

They did 3 different cities, every employer, every neighbor , every friend, you name it for the past ten years. They did it in about three weeks. I could be in an August troop, if not, definately Sept.

HOLY! That was quick! But I know that you have been waiting long enough for this! You must be getting excited now!

You should think about creating a website and post pics and stuff from depot. .. Just a suggestion, or at least give us a post every now and then and let us know how you are doing. Well best of you luck to you!

Just flipping through the posts on this site and was wondering what you do in Ottawa? Top security clearance for RCMP but not in RCMP...tired of all the paperwork at CSIS perhaps? ;D

Longer term I have the feeling that NSIS might be a possible direction for me. For me one of the main reasons for waiting out the long RCMP application process is because of the national policing opportunities.

I work at the CPIC (Canadian Police Information Centre) building at HQ providing technical support to the National Police Service's Network. Basically whenever a detachment gets new personel they will require more equipment for the network. Or perhaps we need to increase the bandwidth for special projects. I take care of Ontario and eastern Canada. I make sure the technicians who do the site survey submit completed paperwork and then I order up the equipment required to complete the install and make sure the installation completes smoothly. So even though I won't be wearing the red serge, all you successful applicants serving in eastern Canada will be doing your CPIC inquirys over "my" network.

nothing new here... Now I have to wait and here if any of my contacts are contacted. nothing as of yet but it has only been 2 weeks since the interview.

Hi Ace. Nothing new with me. Was told that quite possibly going for August 10..however that's pretty damn quick and not confirmed yet.

Ruff Rider...the info that they provide on the website and in the package is dead on about what you should be thinking about for the interview, and that's not just because we aren't supposed to talk about, even if we could my advice would be the same. Good luck.

I've been told probably end of August, early September.

Ran into my background guy the other day and he said my file had been sent back from HQ for a few more questions. I'm sad that this means another delay but happy to know that my file got to the top of HQ's pile.

Was talking to someone the other day that said women and minorities still move through faster. Sounded strange to me since E Div can't even fill the slots they have. Anyone heard anything about that?

Not a thing to report here. I called the psycologist last week and she will be back from vacation Tuesday. I hope to have a call from her towards the end of the week.

I heard E Div. always has trouble filling their slots. B Div. where I am usually picks up some of the extra slots that can't be filled. I got reactivated because they always get extra slots handed over from other divisions.

Does anyone know if they contact all five of your associates as well as your three character references?

I was told the background is thourough so I was surprised that a couple of references were skipped. My wife was also skipped which surprised me. I was also told to expect a field interview at the end which never happened. Perhaps my background was so clean they didn't feel the need

Only 1 of my references had a face to face interview.

I had heard that they talk to your neighbours as well but there was none of that either. I live in one of the best neighbourhoods in town so perhaps that was good enough.

They did talk to my tenants as I kept my old residence as a rental when I bought my new house. Glad I changed their broken doorknob promptly!

They did talk to my previous employers.

I don't know if any of this jives with the experience of others out there. Ideas anyone?
