Its not an interview, its an interrogation. They are going to slam you with a polygraph. Good luck.

Guest... Don't you have anything better to do? What is your job? I am pretty sure that I have personally told you to take off before! I sure as hell don't want any "advice" form you. You are a first class looser, and have no place on this board. If you think you are such a wealth of information on the subject of policing in the RCMP, then why aren't you a member? Oh that's right, you were differed. People here don't like you. They don't want to hear from you. Why don't you go hang out at the local watering hole and bug some other people for a change(Cliff).
LATER!!!

I just got called to go to a 1-hour interview with a Seargeant at the recruiting HQ. I don't know what it's about, and the lady who called me couldn't tell me either... I doubt it's bad news, because they're still asking me to go recertify on my PARE... but it's still got me a bit nervous. Anyone have an idea what it might be about? Has anyone else gotten to the 'last stage' of their application and then had to go through this? Macguy, I was called for what seems to be the same thing, although mine wasn't more than 10 minutes. If it's the same thing, then it's a meet and greet with someone in power to sign off on your security/confidentiality form before your whole package gets sent out for final review/acceptance. Or because it's an hour they may be doing the final review with you. I wouldn't worry too much about it, you have made it this far and if there was something they don't like I am sure you would have heard about it before now. Keep your chin up and remember there's nothing that can stop you but yourself. Cheers!

Laryn888,
There are mountain bikes at depot you can use if you have spare time. I wouldn't bother bringing your bike to Depot. Now if you will be attending during the summer, roller blades might be an option. Although, you don't get alot of space to store things, so pack lightly, only bring what you need. All other sporting goods are available for use at Depot.

Thanks for the advice guys... much appreciated. I just got a little concerned when the recruiter said she 'didn't know' what it was about... that's ususally not a good sign.

Hey HamHam,
If I bug you so much why do you keep replying? If you were such a big, mature man (unlike myself apparently) why don't you just ignore my posts. First class all the way baby.

JamJam,
The security interview isn't an interogation...its a polite way of them saying I don't believe anything you've said about your past and I'm going to drill you until I do believe you! ;D Sorry, had to make you a little nervous! Its not too bad, it is intense and will last anywhere from 2 to 4 hours, so bring a water bottle with you, but its not like they strap you to a chair with a bright light in your face...thats later on... ;D
You'll do fine, just be honest and stick to your guns on what you tell them.

Well, for those who are curious... no poly, no psych test. I had to go in and talk to her about my 'motivations' for being an LEO. She said the file didn't give her enough details, and she wanted to meet the actual person behind it.
Long story short, she signed off on my file and has sent it for security clearance. Won't be long now!

Hey Leafman, I wish you luck in finding this episode! I tried for months to get a copy of it, contacted discovery channel, the producers, the film company that made it...all to no avail. I was able to finally find a copy through another applicant out in BC, but I have since passed it on to other people. So I'm not sure were the copy that I had is now. Your only hope is to find someone with a copy they could send to you. Sorry. It is a really good inside view of depot though, so I hope you're able to find a copy!
