My way too long timeline in the C division….
June 2000: wrote the RPAT
Aug 2000: got a package; scored 4.42
Oct 2000: ran PARE: 4m 10s
Nov 2000: Failed Interview. (Was told that I scored low on Leadership…)
2003: Spend a YEAR with Niagara regional police, did ALL the hiring steps all the way to successful medical (successful background also). When my file was presented to the chief’s office my candidacy was not selected!!!
When I asked the recruiting sergeant at Niagara why it happened, he simply said: “don’t worry it happens all the time; you are not the only one”.
Feb 2004: wrote the RPAT scored 3.77 (no package)
Feb 2005: Scheduled for the RPAT (I will try to do better this time; however, I am curious how my mark is going to be adjusted by the conscientiousness test)
I wish I could come here and be positive about it; although, it is pretty hard. I never thought 8 yrs ago when I initially started all this that it would be that complicated and that many forces would deal with me the way they did… I had interviews with York regional, OPP, and Peel regional. They have so many applications that they turn away plenty of decent people in the process.
To all of you out there, I wish you good luck, however many deserve it and never manage to get hired. A few friends of mine got hired. My buddy did the interview 3 weeks after me in 2000 and went to depot. He is now in Yellowknife, NWT and seems to enjoy it.

I'm another longtime reader first time poster, thought I'd throw mine out there, as I don't usually see many other applicants from D Div on here.
Aug 2003 - Info Session/Application
Oct 2003 - RPAB
Oct 2003 - Completed and returned package
Nov 2003 - Psych Eval
Nov 2003 - Application placed on hold for 6 mths post op of eye surgury (YES - Goodbye contact lenses!)
May 2004 - Sent in updated forms
Aug 2004 - Ran PARE
Sep 2004 - Security/suitability interview
Oct 2004 - Final Medical/dental exams
And now I am waiting, see what comes up next. These backgrounds never seem to be done very quickly. Any other D Div applicants out there want to post their timelines?

Nov 3rd 2004 Cleared final medical - nothing left to do!
I will check back through my records and get some more of the dates, but the recruiter has given me a possibility, albeit slight, for Nov 28th troop, but if not first one in January!

Same time line as you...in E Division RPAT July 24 2004 Score in August Got package late August, ran PARE and then handed in package end of September.... just waiting for my interview call... I did my PARE 3rd week of September...in and around there.....I got a 3.34 and was really happy with that score. Apparently recruiting is a bit backed up with their phonecalls...I have a friend who is on their 13th week without a call....hang in there! ;D Oh good, glad to see they haven't lost my application or anything! We wrote the RPAT on the same day... when did you do your Pare? |

Is there anyone else on here from "H" division that is applying? I've completed everything except my background investigation which is currently being conducted. I am just wondering if any other Nova Scotian's are here! If so my e-mail is evandusen@ppri.net
