Thanks Lia But hey, don't get discouraged. The first time I wrote, I scored a 3.5 Yep, it was disapointing, but the year wait went by pretty quick. So 367 days later, I rewrote, different test, just as hard and scored 4.29 So don't give up, if I can do it, you can. The scores are competed against the division your in. Highest score first and work down. I am in E Division, west coast. Then I believe after you pass all the stuff and interviews, you are then placed back on the rank list. With your rpat score and interview score, they may sort of combine them to give you a new score. Thats when I believe you then compete nationally. Don't take this as gospel, but I pretty sure this is the structure. Hope this may enlighten you a bit. Glenn Remeber, becoming a cop isn't something that happens over night. It takes a good solid weekend of training to get that badge....LOL oops I thought I was logged in.

Hi Lia, I agree with Glenn 100%. Don't give up ever! To answer your question about my status, well, there is no change at all. October is here and I am hoping for the best. I thought my 3.98 was pretty good back in Jan.. At least enough to get an application! I inquired with recruiting in Montreal, but the info I received was stuff that is pretty common knowledge. I was told to await the second selection which is now. I have also applied to the Ontario Provincial Police and Toronto Police Service. I have tests with these departments next month. The process is 10 times faster then the RCMP. I am still confident that I will be selected this month (thank's for the good praise about the RPAT), but I had to follow up with other options to be safe. Hope this answers your question. Good luck to everyone. ECHO13

I heard that here in B division, the people notified of making the October selection period will receive their applications more towards later in the month. So good luck to those in other provinces.
Echo13, I know you say that other processes are quicker than RCMP but right now, but my process is going alot quicker than you would think! I think it's because they increased troops through depot. Anyway, have a look at my timeline:
Mar 2/02 - wrote RPAT June 3/02 - ran PARE Aug 20/02 - Interview Sept 13-now - background check Sept 19-20/02 - Medical
So it has only been 7 months and the recruiter expects to get me off to depot before Christmas, perhaps even the ned of October depending on my background check clearing.
Good luck everyone. Ace13

Ace13, your timeline is amazing. Do you know of others who have progressed at that rate or even faster? I guess it all comes down to the division and their methods. You must be so excited to split for depot. I would not be able to contain myself if I was in your shoes. I am anxious just to get a package. Well, only time will tell. I will let you know what happens in the coming weeks.

Echo13, Yes I'm very excited!!! I just want to go now. I don't know anyone personally, that has moved as quickly as me, but I have heard the recruiter here say that people are going through very fast. There are 30 odd people from NF up in Regina now, and that is unusual. Most other provinces can't fill their quotas, so extras are being sent from other provinces who have people ready to send. Good luck and Hang in there! Ace13

Hey Kev, I don't know if you are aware or not, but your messages are both blank??? Try again bud!
Also, way to go Ace 13!!! That is one great accomplishment to say the least. Good luck in Regina. It is always good to hear that people can go all the way with such a tough process.

Sorry Echo 13! What I wanted to say was that I heard from a friend of mine who lives in the east end of Montreal that RCMP is very slow at getting the ball rolling, but really pick it up after you get the application forms. I think you will hear something at the end of this month. I lived in NDG for 6 months back in 2000, Montreal is great. Good luck with the GRC, salut!

I am in E division as well. I wrote on June 08/02 in Naniamo. I drove up from Victoria to write. Didn't want to wait any longer, just wanted to get it over with. I am hoping my package will be here this week sometime. What did you score on the rpat? and where did you write the test? Chat later Glenn
