Hi guys
Just wanted to drop a line and say that I did the psych & poly for CPS on Wednesday and Thursday. The psych is pretty long with some strange, some funny questions, but overall just long. The poly was fine I guess, but pretty stressful & long. At the end I was told it was successful, however now I will have to wait up to three weeks for the recruiting unit to receive the results of these tests, and decide whether to continue. So that's were I stand now - just a big waiting game now.....
Romano: sorry I wasn't able to hook up, but have been super-busy with all the testing, etc. I'll email youin a few days once I'm settled at home. Talk to you then.

Hi guys
Sorry it's been a while since I answered - been away with work and heading out again this week. No news yet from Calgary - I've been racing home everyday to check messages & emails, but nothing yet. J, drop me a line at daveben73@hotmail.com if you'd like, but it may take a week or two for me to get back to you. Romano, any firm dates for your psych & poly yet? Any more scuttlebutt floating around the city? I heard from a friend with CPS that they are running courses in Oct, Nov, Jan, Mar & Jun, but are having trouble filling the Nov class, so maybe things will move quick.... Drop me a line when you get some news. Have a good turkey day

Hi guys
I just got back from being away for a couple of weeks, and still no news.... still waiting. Romano - good luck on the polygraph; try to get a good night's sleep before it! Drop me a line and let me know how it went, or if you have any questions. When I got back to work the other day, I found out a friend who had applied to the RCMP in Feb 2001 got hired and starts in 3 weeks. I guess the RCMP is revving up and putting thru a course every couple of weeks. J - how did your polygraph go?Romoano, I read the article in the Calgary Sun about the possible hiring freeze, and my heart sank a bit. When I talk to my file manager in a couple weeks, I'll mention this and see what she has to say about it.
Take it easy and good luck to everyone going thu with CPS.

Hey dave, I talked to my file manager about the possible hiring freeze and she told me that there was nothing to worry about. My Poly is coming up on Tuesday, any tips or last minute advice, I am kind of worried about it. Have you heard anything back yet about your poly or psych?

Hello to everyone onthis message board. I have been an outsider looking in on this board for about a year now and finally put my name in. I was o-line late last night and found some really great things being shared and decided I would like to become a part of it all. I am currently in the running for a PD here in Southern California. I took my exams; both written and physical, have done one interview and have passed my polygraph. I am now waiting for my background to be completed. I used to have a clearance on the federal level so I think I should be alright. However, like so many others I have seen here, the nerves are always there. When you want something as badly as we all want these jobs (becasue it truly goes deeper than just wanting a "job") you can't help but get excited about it. Over the past 4 years I have applied to numerous federal, state and local agencies. I have always passed the written tests, but seem to flub up in one way or another during the oral. So, this is the farthest that I have gotten so far. I will be wishing all of you the best of luck on your endeavors and am crossing my fingers for myself as well. It can be a long road, but like one of the posts I read last night said, these long roads are worth it in the end.

Hey Romano and Dave,
Glad to hear that all is going well with the process. Romano I read about your poly and your comments sound pretty familiar. Does anyone know what part of the month that CPS does there selection meeting?
Good Luck !
