Hey everyone,
I used to regular the site about a year ago when I first decided I wanted a career in law enforcment. Back then I was just looking for some advice on how to start out a college plan to ready myself for it. Recently, however, I applied to the PD in the town I'm going to college in, Lincoln Ne. I just turned 21 and decided I might as well take the test and get my name in the system. I didn't expect anything, just wanted to show them I was interested and I would be around in the coming years looking for a job. Well I ended up passing both written exams and then maxed the physical exam with flying colors. I've completed my personal history statment which they are using right now to do a background investigation. I'm scheduled for a personal interview and a phone interview in a couple days.
Although I only went into this whole thing not really concerned how it ended up, I really want this job now.
Any advice for me as far as the interview. I'm concerned the interviewer will just see me as some college kid that just wants to carry a gun and handcuffs around, which couldn't be farther from the truth. I've come to really like this town and genuinely want to serve the people here. Will the interview be like an interview for a normal job or should I expect an interview style unique to PDs. I'll take any advice I can get. (Sorry it's so long, I like to talk)
