Hi all, I haven't been on the board since I first posted, I was having some computer problems. I recieved my admittance notice to the test for the PA State Police which will be given in about one month. I am pretty well prepared, I plan on spending the next month brushing up on my basic math skills and my writing. The writing is still pretty sharp since I am still in college, so hopefully that will be no sweat. I am pretty confident in my abilites to take this test, not really worried, all because if it dosen't work out I will simply reapply to do it again. Just thought I would say hello to everyone, and if any has any thoughts or ideas for the test taking techniques please feel free to let me know - Thanks

Hey man. I just wanted to let you know that I just got my test score back, and I made a 97/100. It was a 176 question long exam. But to give you a heads-up on what my test look, it might help you out some. First, they threw this picture at us. Gave us 2 minutes to memorize as much as we could, and then we answered questions. Next step was the grammar section. That was just pretty basic grammar stuff. You had to tell them if a sentence was correct or incorrect, depending on spelling, punctuation, word use, etc. Third part was a section where they displayed 3 policies. You had to read the policy and then answer questions about the policy. This was the easiest part of the test because you could reffer back to the policy as much as you wanted, so you are sure to get all of those correct. And the last part of the test was a section where we answered personal questions about ourselfs. This wasn't a graded section, but for some reason it was on the test, instead of in an interview. They asked questions like "If you were in this situation, would you do A, B, or C." And questions like "If you are in a group of people, do you try to be a A. Leader, B. Follower, C. Be Invisible." So they had some stupid questions like that.. But that was it. It was pretty basic if you asked me. Didn't even come close to some of the college, and even high school tests I've taken in my days. So no worries man, and good luck!

Jmays, Thanks for the info on the test, I had heard the design was similar to that so I wasn't worried about it, but is nice to hear more of the same feedback for reassurance. Congratrs on the score, 97 is pretty damn good. Good luck through the rest of the selection process, and if all goes well I will be doing the same!
