Hello everyone. I have seen lots of great questions and answers here. I was wondering if maybe I could get some helpful answers to my question (s).
I am up for an Oral board, essay, poly, psych, physical and a brief written exam.
These are the last steps before I am told if I am in or out. I am okay will these steps except for the essay. I'm not sure what that is about. If someone can shed some light as to what I should expect to write about or maybe how I should write one, this would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks and I look forward to your answers.

"These are the last steps before I am told if I am in or out."
It sounds like you're just starting the process of applying to your department. You might have to fail a few times at any one step before moving on to the next. It's going to take time.
It might help you read all of the posted threads. It might take a few hours, but it's totally worth it. When I first came here I had similar feelings, that I just needed to knock out a few forms, take a test or two, and then drive over to the academy for some training. Since then I've failed at various stages of the selection process for two departments, found I couldn't qualify in time for a third, and chose not to pursue a fourth.
By the way, I might have given up if it weren't for this website. I had no idea how many times some people had to try to get the appoinment they wanted. I now know very few applicants get all the way through on their first time, and some people fail some things for no apparent reason. All you can do is relax and keep trying.

Hey Lich thanks for replying to my question. I have gone through the first steps in the process in the department I am applying to. I have already successfully passed the written, physical agility and the background check. I am now in the Essay and Oral part of the process as mentioned before. I know it takes time and I might even fail (I hope and pray I don’t) if I do, I will continue to try. I have read a lot of threads on this website and it has helped me a lot. I’m not worried any more about what’s to come in the process except for what the Essay might entail.
Good luck to you and thanks again for your answer. I hope to post a good update as to the outcome although it’s still about three weeks away.
