Truly, I enjoyed reading the all the past forums and I still do. But people do still frequent this site just now body posts. Its always nice to hear how someone is doing in the process. Heck, maybe someone is going to depot....all a person would have to do is ask and I would help them out on any questions they would have. Oh! and just finished week 1.... YAY!!!!! 23 more to go!

Jack, You should sign up on 10-62. I think that's where a large number of the people from here went.

Long time- no Post !!! Happy New Yr to you all !! I think most people are posting on other sites ( Officer.com, the realpolice.com,etc) In the past Cops2be was the pplace for all things police - depts, jobs, questions, etc for everyone-from small southern agencies in the U.S. to Canadian Big cities.but in the last yr it has become little more than RCMP townhall !Now I respect the RCMP and I know for a FACT that alot of mounties are on the job becuase they checked in here first and made hook ups,had questions answered, even made friends and classmates via this site.but the trick is to get this site BACK to "cops2be",not just mounties2be. There are alot of folks who would beneift from this site- so start telling others, even on other websites.bring on the conversations about NYPD,ask about working patrol in Halifax, nova scotia, talk about hiring in Texas, get others to share their academy experiences in California, or a vet officer to give us the real "inside" on joining up in British columbia-and of course, nothing wrong with an occasional tidbit or two from RCMP'ers............ ;D

Hey,
If anyone is still out there......
I was a frequent on this site, posted once in a while, but mostly just viewed the posts.
I'm just recently graduated from Depot and posted in E division. It was a demanding 6 months, but fun at the same time. Made some very good friends, whom I keep in contact with often.
The job is very exciting, and can get tedious with all the paperwork. I'm with my trainer for a couple of months, learning a lot along the way. You think you know everything until you actually start working, and then you feel like you did the first week in Depot.
For anyone out there that has any questions, please let me know. I'll see if I can be of assistance.

Hi all,
I was digging through some of my stuff and remembered this board. It was a great help when I was going through the process in late 2002 until I got to Depot in March 2003.
I had a read through all the old posts...wow, what memories! The recruitment process can be long, frustrating, lots of questions marks, etc. but the career is WORTH IT. The RCMP is hiring full speed ahead and this is the best time to apply.
Good luck to anyone who may be around reading this and in the recruitment process. I have just over 4 years in the RCMP (time flies!) now and I love the career.
take care, Dave

Good for you jack,
Exciting times. It may seem like a long process, but well worth it in the end!! Don't get discouraged by the waiting, it's all part of the process.
I was there not too long ago.
