Does anyone know what the background check entails, and how picky they are with siblings. I'm a good candidate, and I've never done anything bad, except get a speeding ticket, and call in sick when I haven't been (years ago). My brother doesn't have a criminal record, but I know his friends have gotten into trouble with the police (minor problems, I think), and he's been there when his friends have gotten into trouble. I've had both my interviews and have passed them already, will this effect my application process?

Disclose it. You cant pick your family and they understand that.

What if I live at home with my brother, but am not on talking terms with him? Should I move out?

Doesn't matter...I know someone with the Mounties that had a sibling under house arrest when he applied and he got on without a problem...he still lived at home too. Don't sweat it, as long as they are aware of it (you weren't trying to conceal the info) you should be fine.
