Hey,
Just looking for any info from current Regular Members as to their physical preparation prior to Depot as well as how successfull it was for them.
As I've seen from online journals you run the 1.5 mi "Coopers", 3mi, and 5mi in addition to the uniform run/3 PAREs/Bleep Test. Anything else? And are these runs done as a troop or on your own (at the same time as everyone else)?
How much time did you find you had to work out while at Depot? Did you just have time for the minimum required physical activity? Or did you have some free time to run/hit the gym a little more?
Also, what is the average time for the PARE they are sending people to Depot with?
If anyone else has any second hand information on any of these subjects, any information would be helpfull.

Yes you have extra time to work out while at depot... some do more and some do less but it is definitely something the facilitators want to see.
As for the PARE... you just need to pass, a better time does not help your application unless they have a reason to worry about your level of fitness. Actually you should remember that you are expected to better your PARE time while at depot so leaving a bit of room for improvement is good.

There's always time for fitness if you know how to manage your time. You will be expected to do regular fitness activities on your own on top of what you do in classes. As long as you are in reasonably good shape - can run the PARE and pass and put forth a valued effort, you'll do fine. As for the PARE times, this is different for each division - I think BC you need less than 4:20 but for out East and the smaller Divs, its a bit slower - it all depends - shoot for under 4:00 and if you can do that before getting to Depot than you'll have no worries except what's for dinner.
