I was wondering what people have heard in regards to how recruiters view applicants that still live at home. I am hoping on applying in the near future , when I am closer to completing my degree. I have taken an extended time in completing my degree (5 & 1/2 years rather than 4 years) as I have been taking some semesters off and working ,as some exception law enforcement related job opportunites have arisen. I have made the choice to live at home while going to school ,as I'm determined to complete my degree with no loans, debt or help from others. I do still live at home and don't pay rent, however, I pay for all other expenses associated with livin' . I feel that my experiences from school, work, volunteering and life in general make me a strong canditate, however, some people have mentioned that the fact that I don't live on my own will be a very large point against me. I was just wondering what others have heard in regards to this matter.

You sound well prepared to answer the question should it ever come up in an interview! In terms of living at home, my husband never lived anywhere but home and he was successful. He didn't have a problem getting through but was questioned as to why he stayed at home rather than move out on his own. He was able to support his reasons and they seemed happy. I wouldn't worry to much about it, but if that's all you have to worry about, then good for you! Good luck I was wondering what people have heard in regards to how recruiters view applicants that still live at home.
