Is there an age ceiling for the RCMP now?

So I thought too, but if I get off my ass and do some digging I can probably find the information with where he's posted...some where in "K" I think.

And the youngest I know of is 21...MOST people don't have the life experinces the RCMP is looking for at 21, never mind 19...If your son is 18 tell him to go to university, live on his own, pay his bills, etc. Sometimes life has to kick you in the nuts a few times to teach you whats what.
And for the love of God, don't let him take Justice or police foundations or something similar, those degrees will not help him get into a police force, and if for some reason he can't be a cop the degrees are useless! Get him to take something else he's interested in...Business, Computer Science, anything that he can use as a back up in case things don't work out.

I completely agree...do not advise him to take something in school, spending all that money on something that is NOT a for sure thing!...'cause then he'll be stuck walking around a mall for 8 hours making 8 bucks an hour. There is nothing wrong with majoring is something like business and doing a MINOR in criminology or justice. Plus, taking classes throughout school like first aid, karate, self defence, whatever will help show an added interest without investing major amounts of money. applying will never hurt, it will only identify hurdles he may have to overcome if he is not successful.....I think it would be wise because all he will have to do is improve his resume and that never hurts! Good luck to him! And the youngest I know of is 21... i know of a recruiter that hired three 19 year old guys in a very short span. He explained that he judged life expereince on what he figured an average 19 year old or whatever should have and how much you surpass that. He explained that he would not judge you against a 26 year olds life expereince and say to you that you should have the same level of expereince. Expereince comes from many diferent hings not just your age.
