Hi all, I have returned to this site after a couple of years of being away. I have re-applied to CPS after a 2 year deferral and I am patiently waiting for the process to begin yet again. Anyone else in the early or late stages of the CPS application? Any hints or pointers that I should know? Please let me hear them. Thanks.

Romano, I was just thinking about you the other day! Did you end up going to SE Asia, and if so, sometime well before the tsunami?
Sounds funny that I said I was thinking about you the other day, but I was just about to put in my application again, and I remembered that you got deferred shortly before I did. I'm aiming to put in my app for June, but I need to get my PARE and CPR/First Aid recertified again.
From what I understand, recruiting is hurting for applicants. Applications are down, job positions are opening up like mad, so they aren't quite sure what to do with themselves. Keeping in mind that this is a Canada/USA wide problem, so the already thin ranks of applicants are being spread very thinly across many jobs. The moral of the story: I think after your two years away, depending on what you did in that time, I think you are going to be good to go.
I think the process is still pretty much status quo, so good luck with everything. Whereabouts are you in the process right now?

Hey Phil, 2 years have flown by that's for sure. I'm amazed you remember that I went to SE Asia. I was there a year before the tsunami hit and sadly many of the placed I visited have been completely destroyed.
I had my pre-interview yesterday with my file manager and it went well. I have also heard of the shortages of people applying its crazy with so many positions available...it must be pretty tough on recruiting to balance wanting quality recruits and having to fill spots. Keep me posted on your progress.

Romano,
Good to hear that you are back at it. Remember how long and hard it was for me. Came back the third time, told them that I wasn't going to go away so better hire me or arrest me...LOL got some laughs.... They are short on good quaility applicants. Hope you make it in, I'm having a blast on the street. Best part, they even pay me to do this......

Romano, I have a mind like a steel trap.. of course I remembered that you were going to SE Asia. Good to hear you are back in the saddle again, and this time with a great chance of making it. Like Boyscout said, third time was a charm for him, so your second go around just might be the time YOU make it in. I'll keep you posted, and make sure you keep us all in the loop with regards to your application.
